I got 3 or 4 volumes in and couldnt find any more and it ended on a nuts cliffhanger, they gotta make a show out of this one day, the art style is UNREAL

Im gonna have to get a copy of this- love how youre reading passages of meaningful dialogue- the bit about reptilian ideologies was totally right on! Ive been obsessed with the Zizek film 'the Pervert's Guide to Ideology' lately-if youve not seen it, its a deep dive into the potential (and maybe unintentional) ideological takeaways from American Cinema, beginning with They Live-- really brain-cracking shit!

Thanks for the great review of this book. Greg Tocchini draws like a magical lovechild of Frank Cho and Jim Silke. My only criticism of the book is that as a writer, Remender is a bit on the nose with having the characters doing alot of obviously philosophically meandering, soliloquy-type dialogue which would serve better told through ACTION: Show don't tell! It can actually take away from the stunning sci-fi visuals. Also as much as the artwork and sci-fi visuals are simply amazing, i don't understand this trend of pushing this FLAT-LOOKING COMPUTER/PHOTOSHOP Coloring. Tocchini has such exquisite, gorgeous linework which would be served better with organic coloring like gouache or watercolor. BTW. I would love for you to check out and do a similar review of another, similar, rare sci-fi comic that is completely under the radar one day: ZAYA by Jd Morvan and Huang-Jia Wei. Published by MagneticPress.👍

The pholosophical musing it what sets the book apart for me. It might creep in too often, or with too heavy a hand at times, but there are also those pure gold quotes that I tagged, so I was happy with it overall.
Yes, the art is absolutely stunning. Colora get a bot dark at time, but I do love the look of it. Also love his uncolored line art in colored inks.
I have seen images from Zaya. It looked aexy, and I LOVE Magnetic, so that is on the list for sure. Thanks for the reccomend.

Same team did a book called "Last days of American Crime" back in the day. it was pretty good

Yes, I also enjoyed that one. Pretty much anything by Remender is a must read for me. Tochinni was MADE to draw this kind of sci-fi stuff.

This is a review of the physical book mostly with almost no mention of the story. I was disappointed. I wanted to hear a review of the story not the drawings.

Apologies, I thought I got into the story and themes of this one pretty heavily, reading many quotes that touched me and even related those themes of Nihlism to things my partner and I have been talking about and struggling with.

Very good comic. This book was published in Russian.

Glad it got translated! It really is a great work! And, it has under-water Russian robot polar bears, so... they BETTER publish it in Russian.
What is the major publisher of foreign material in Russia? It would be sweet to get SDOAR distributed in Russian.

It was a good series. Art was cool. Hero had a lot of hope even though her world falls apart. Thought it was going to be a woke book. Crazy action. I enjoyed Some of the stuff is hard to make out but it is a good story.

It seems pretty clear that Remender is a middle-person, sick of the bullshit from both extremes. I think he is one of the best myth-makers we have at the moment.
