    It is very refreshing seeing cool cars being thought out, fabricated & built WITHOUT all the associated temper tantrums and other nonsense, as David Lowell mentioned. As car guys/girls & all gearheads will agree we want to see & appreciate the thought process and execution of these rolliing works of art that are built to be driven!!
    Thank You Troy Ladd & the crew of Hollywood Hot Rods

    Glad to see a new build, bad ass as usual. Kinda missed that pretty smile tho.
    That's the thing about car guys, being stuck at home isn't that bad.
    Both my sons are into hot rods also. We have a 53-54 3100- a 55 Apache and a 69 C-10. Sitting in the garage to work on, so we have plenty to keep us busy during this pandemic. You guys stay safe and keep up the awesome build's. HOT ROD DIRTIES 💯 👍

    I’ve built a few cars over the years and I think y’all are terrific, What I have learned is to eliminate the knee crawling, shin skinnin , knee banging part of the build. I raised my chassis up to waist level so I could work off a sit creeper or just reach across to what I need without my back taking the stress. Tall jack stands did the job. All other is fantastic, you do a hello job.

    Troy comes across as a real cool classy dude. Awesome quality builds. The Pontiac engine is definitely the winner. In my opinion, the light Pontiac blue would've matched better in the blue car. Let's lose that belly button SBC and drop a high revving Cleveland in between those frame rails!

    At 6 mins,the disc brake set up,makes it look like drum brakes. The actual drum cover,does that spin like a brake drum?or did he bolt that on and it doesnt spin? Prolly be cool looking spinning as opposed to a brake drum just bolted.still though a very cool look.

    How long .. and how much it. would cost to built sth like that .. but more 'plebeian' .. so kit-parts and lets say with 5.0 Coyote or small-block Chevy .. ? ..

    • @geofo60
      @geofo60 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bodies were around 10K from Brookville, chassis 2.5K, front end 2K, rear end (based on 9” Ford) 1,5 K, grille shell and s/steel insert 800 $. Wheels, tires, motor, transmission, prop shaft - depends on whether you go used or new, gas tank 250 $, windshield I paid 1200 $ for a bare finish Duval around twenty years ago, chopped ‘32 in bare steel I guess would be around 350 $, glass can’t remember. That’s before you look at an interior, gauges, paint, wiring harness, exhaust. It’s definitely not a cheap Hotrod to build but if you do the labour yourself you’re going to have about 35K invested. You could go down the fibreglass route or look around for an unfinished project. I have about 100 K in mine. Good luck if you decide to go for a ‘32, they’re a lot of fun.
      Geof (U.K.).

    I absolutely love Hot Rods but I think the definition has become kind of appropriated by people who see a history of inventive kids just trying to go fast. If you think about it the first Shelby Cobra, the FIA with the 289 motor, was a hot rod. That car donor, the AC Ace was first sold around 1958-59. It doesn't have to be a 1930's car. I believe if you built it, made parts to make thing fit, change the look with cut parts and welding, etc, you've got yourself a hot rod. Just make sure it goes fast.

    • @SNORKYMEDIA

      Jess Morgan boxing is adding metal to the missing side to strengthen the frame

    • @zososldier
      @zososldier 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those 2 frames were boxed. Most standard cars and trucks don't have a boxed frame. Some might be around the engines but thats usually it.

    • @deanniederkrom6686
      @deanniederkrom6686 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jess Morgan cars back then were made to bend on the roads instead of independent suspension which came out later. Boxing means giving the chassis more strength by putting a box inside
