With heat transfer, do you wait for the lye to cool down to a certain temperature to avoid burning any butters? Thank you!
No you pour it right when the lye is dissolved. It doesn’t burn the butters. :)

Do you get less Lye fumes with the heat transfer method?
No it’s the same because you’re mixing the lye and water the same way.
I was wondering if you would get more..my understanding was that people do lye in cold water to reduce fumes
