Why do people need to wear desert survival headwear? They're indoors in a boreal forest climate in spring. Also, it's traditionally men's headwear. This is absolutely a political statement and wearing something as a political statement _should_ be against the dress code there if the political statement is entirely unrelated to our country (or specifically our province in this case).

      Here here!
The fact that she wasn't seen wearing this until now proves that.
If you want to wear a political statement outside a place dealing with *CANADIAN* political issues, feel free. You are perfectly within your rights. This however proves that she's attention seeking and virtue signaling and not for Canadians. SHe won't be reelected again after this, hopefully anywhere in Canada.

An interesting thing i notice was i googled her and clicked on images and most of the time she only wears that in parliament so its clearly a political statement in support of palestine in the current conflict......she's a politician here these opinions she has should only be shared privately. In the end it wont matter because I highly doubt she will get re-elected

If that is a political prop so is a tie, so is a suit, so are Oxford shoes. It is a cultural article of clothing just the same as those that I have named. Just because Palestinians also wear it doesn't make it exclusive to palestinians. What's more why do Canadians have to spend their hard-earned taxpayer money to become complicit in an international crime against humanity and a genocide. Why do Canadians have to lose their freedoms of expression and freedoms of speech in order to Aid and abet in that crime. All the while Canadians are homeless on the streets and yet your loyalty is elsewhere and you intend to have Canadian taxpayer money be sent overseas in order to make Canadians complicit in a crime against humanity. I wonder if you lived in the time of the Nazis would you have also supported the Nazis?

Canada is a multicultural nation, starting with Indigenous people and including so many more, Europeans, Africans, Chinese, Latin American, the list goes on. Society should get more tolerant of our differences culturally, and stick together on basic needs that we all share, like decent food, water, shelter, healthcare, education, transportation, no?
The system that divides us and generates racism and classism is the same one across the world: Market capitalism. Look there for your root problem. Which has put private control over the means of production for endless profit growth at the centre of the anti-economic system and divided people into classes, unnecessarily. The truth is, there is only one race: the human race and if you want to talk cultures, that's fine, but even the term 'race' should fade out of existence in a sane society because we'd recognize we are the same race and we have equal dignity in our socio-economic system.

These our the laws and all Canadians must follow them. As a native person it gets fuzzy for me when people not from this land and in many ways Alien reproach us and tell us that we are bad people for not letting them do whatever they want. Years ago the issue was ceremonial machetes that Sikhs felt that they should be allowed to carry in Public, it was their culture, In our house we discussed carrying ceremonial 45's and oozy sub machine guns....sound ridiculous, it was, and so is trying to bend people to your religion, where does it stop. If this lady who represents more than herself is able to tell our Laws how it is going to be, then Trudeau must go to jail for arresting truckers...its that simple. you cant arbitrarily decide what law to listen to and what law not to.

@@edlubitz2968 We should be allowed to critique any laws made by human beings in a healthy society. You are allowed to have your concerns and questions, as should everyone be. But do you not know that laws are made by the rich elites in ways that help protect elite interests and further oppress and exploit the minorities and working class? Rich elites break the laws all the time and get away with it. They just have the money to pay for it, for big time lawyers, accountants, whatever. They either skirt the laws or lobby the government to make the laws that suit them to evade taxes, responsibility and other things. Where is your concern for income inequality? That's a huge problem that generates structural violence. Dr. James Gilligan did extensive research on this, in US prisons if you want to see his work and conclusions, you can.
I see you are concerned about 'where does it stop?' I would say it'll stop when we aren't living in a structurally violent capitalist-run system, when people in each community co-own and co-benefit from the wealth we all help contribute to, as a 'community' is actually supposed to be. Historically, it was, in Indigenous culture, in African culture and many more. There is a phrase "Ubuntu" meaning "unity within community" and when practised it can actually reduce violence because we aren't at each other's throats for cultural issues, we are embracing differences and recognizing our shared humanity based around human dignity and needs being satisfied. One Small Town initiative is really interesting, you may want to check out. See if you agree or disagree with anything in that voluntary and free organization.
Violence is pretty clearly unacceptable. But there is a time and a place for objects that can be used as weapons. Guns are legal for certain things, like game hunting. In the USA, some States allow open carry. That is crazy to me. Why would someone want to bring a gun to a fast foot restaurant or whatever? That only increases the potential violence. We can discuss any of these issues. But I see them all rooted in our socio-economic system, which currently, is wildly unsustainable, unjust and unhealthy.
Maybe the 21st century should be time for a system change for humanity for the better?
