Assuming that the above statement is accurate (I haven't read the source material) I'm dismayed by how much some, though not all Protesant, denominations have softened their stance on key moral questions. My parents are Baptists and they are among the most Godly people I know. I'm sure that they would also be shocked by this shift in morality. Finally, I've rencently converted to Catholicism, motivated , in part, by the moral laxitude displayed by many Protestant churches.
@patriciacarrasco Oh Patricia, if you ever read the Bible you'd see so many rituals. You're the one holding onto a perspective of Jesus that watered down from them. Learn the history God made with the human people throughout the ages. It's a deeper way of learning the Bible. Jesus didn't leave behind a book, He left a Church, that made the book... and MORE! Please don't call it false, you're offending Jesus.
The version most people read was edited and translated by the Church of England. The New Testament has evolved quite a bit over time and is more akin to a literary collage than a singular text. One group cannot possibly claim sole ownership of it.
@patriciacarrasco The catholic religion is a false religion? I guess that's true if you don't believe in God. If you're protestant, please explain why protestants follow Martin Luther who changed the Bible? Luther wanted to get rid of the book of St. James. Do you really believe that one can have faith but no good works? If so, why the story of the Good Samaritan? If UR a fundamentalist, U take communion as Jesus said to do this & lost followers who refused to do so.
I can understand here frustration but there are MUCH WORSE problems than a couple of misguided young adults. Christianity Today magazine published an article claiming that it is now unreasonable to expect people to actually remain virgins until marriage. Further, Southern Baptist theologian Dr. Albert Mohler actually AGREES with that opinion! Not only that for a very long time the Strong's Concordance has endorsed pre-marital cohabitation as part of the "marriage bed" in Heb 13:4.
@islandblind this is sad...but i dont blame u because yes lots of protestant churches are very liberal now, including my old church and its very frustrating. but...Catholicism is a false religion, and not going according to the Bible. please have a relationship w/ Jesus and dont fall for catholicism and its rituals
Of course the Catholic Church is biblical, it wrote and ratified the books in the Bible.
