all you had to do to have the strategy tester go from 40 to 70% was use heiken ashi candles

This has potential and a lot of parameters. I'd put on "trade with trend" and the entries and exits to see how it works. It's typical for two MA strategies, it'll profitable if you catch a large trend but unprofitable in a choppy market. Where "neural" comes in is unknown.

what’s the point of using it if most of the short indicators weren’t valid and how were you profitable with that?
Given this script is open source.
If you change the buy and sell labels to something like
sellLabel = (whatever triggers it) AND < (the emas)
And
buyLabel = (again, whatever triggers it) AND > (the emas)
You'll be able to clean up when it spits out buy and sell signals so you won't get alerted as much.

I typically only trade stocks, anyone familiar with this indicator what settings would you use for 5 minutes versus daily?
how many days does it take to finish the 100 setups
This strategy REQUIRES you to change its settings, mainly the part where you specify the importance (score) of each of its internal indicators! That's how it "thinks" (the weight it applies to each indicator) and generate buy/sell signals.
Also notice that the default values are not optimized for cryptocurrencies on small timeframes and in normal japanese candlesticks. Oh, by the way, you could have checked the "Only tade with the trend" (yes, it's mispelled in the options) so it will only open short positions when in downtrend and same for longs.
Can you share what settings you recommend them to be changed to?
@@curtiscieslak2089 It depends on the timeframe, asset, market conditions... use an automation software (some are Google Chrome extensions) that will scan through many combinations to find the optimal one for your case.
@@curtiscieslak2089 Just to give one simple example of how big the difference can be. Select BTCUSDTPERP (Binance) and 1H timeframe. The strategy tester will show (by current time), something around -2.5% negative net profit. Now change the ATR Reversal Importance from 1 to 4 and with only this option the strategy now makes 6.5% net profit.

What u sometimes forget to say at the end is in how much time did u ind those 100 trades and with the spreadsheet this gives a much clearer image.

i have been working on this indicator for last 6 months, even edited its script to even use heikin ashi candles for algo calculations. and no it's no repainting, but it's over fitting unfortunately.
