Not to take away from the message but Rosa Parks' action was definitely planned.

Finding your tribe is not always so cut and dry, these people always skirt around this part-what if you are in a location where other people with a similar vision are simply not there?

Maybe not other people but in my experience, you'll find one person at least, if you look and keep looking, and then you can inspire others. And literally create your tribe.

In a REALLY BAD situation, such as the collapse of government, society, and the structures that sustain our way of living, even if your neighbors dont take your communication of relationship-building seriously at the time, your gesture of good faith will stay in their mind, and at the very least, they will save you for last, or at least feel guilty about killing you for your food and water, a few months into a power-outage. Anybody would fight for food and water, if they are watching their family/children starve to death. People dont just lay down and die. You cant blame zombies for trying to stay alive, and keep theirs alive. One thing you could do is at least communicate good faith by initiating contact with your neighbors, door to door, offering any help in case of an emergency, and possibly offering them veggie seeds for a garden, and even asking if you can expand your garden in their yard when SHTF, if you live in the proper environment. This is a great way to start a community with neighbors you have never talked to, and at the very least, will inspire others to be loving.
In a time like this (covid-19 and the george floyd riots) it gives people hope to see a garden in everybodys yards. Nobody wants to be the bad guy, and steal food and water from another family, and most people will chose another option, if they see hope. Stay human. ✌👽❤

Watch the movie Chocolate, a nomad woman coming in to a conservative village with her bright colours and wonderful treats changed the minds and hearts one by one
You dont need to have the majority of people to start spreading good 🙏🏽

Nice ideas, but as a native person of Denver, we do not lack a music scene, just saying. I mean, we have Red Rocks Amphitheater, come on!

If you listen closely I was speaking to my friend in Denver about MY new community of Bismarck, ND, not Denver.

    • @katieomeara4345

@@heidiwoods444 Thank you for clarifying, but it might be misinterpreted. It could have been more clear if you said "your friend" and left out the Denver part.

It was important for me to acknowledge where she was from as it gave context to the situation I was experiencing in a small community compared to a big city. I worked with an experienced speech coach on my entire talk for months so while I appreciate the feedback, I am really happy with my work! Not everyone will get it 😊

@@heidiwoods3190 Thank you for explaining that. However, I would not classify Denver as a big city compared to other cities in America. Perhaps that's why I misinterpreted your analogy. I can tell you put a lot of thought into this speech. Keep up the good work :)

Ignorance alert: problematic use of word "tribe."
Also: seconding comment about Rosa Park's action as being planned - because it was.

Hey Nikki! My goal wasn't actually to inspire anyone. My goal was to share information on my process of winning a 2 year fellowship and making big change in my community that would provide meaning and value to others. Be well!
