I was born and raised in Telford. The majority of the Pakistani community kept itself separate from the rest of Telford, apart from many of the young girls in the area. One girl from my school became pregnant at 14, I can't say for certain that she was a victim of the rape gangs but there was a distinct effort to stifle any discussion about her and she wasn't seen at school again. When I was older I went on to work in residential care with young people and we had constant issues with girls absconding and being taken away by gangs of Asians. They would be eventually returned in awful states (I won't go into detail). The Police and Social Services just didn't seem bothered. To think this is still going on there and in other towns decades later is astonishing to me. It's sick!
