This is the old American Standard plant on Lansdowne and DuPont in Toronto Ontario. I still miss the old place.

    Hi MarioCyrascoll,
Acme was produced and first aired in Toronto with TVOntario. The Music was by Harry Forbes, another fine Canadian. He was also famous for the sound of a headache on one of the headache remedy commercials ot the time. He appears near the end of the Acme Music Special.

I really liked all the 3 videos but missed what happens from the wooden final size to the ideally 1.2 unshrunk model. Is the unshrunk 1.2 casting model the one made out of plaster which is coered in plastic?

They aren't wearing shirts because the casting shop is kept at 86°F. and 60% humidity so the clay doesn't dry either too fast or too slow. In addition, they are paid on a production basis, the more you make, the more you get paid (Consistent with quality requirements). If you gotta be there eight hours anyway, you might as well make as much money as you can, right? They work fast and hard and are actually highly skilled people.

Hi from an old American 'Ideal' Standard. Over in UK.
Was a casters for 30 years.
Hard but great autonomy with the job. Piece work 32 hour week, overtime if you wanted.
We have come a long way backwards me thinks.

@@grahamsymonds2489 I salute you, worked for a metal casting company back in 1994, was 19 years then but I still remember the consistent cough I had and occasional nose bleeding....you had to be a man.
