Considering the amount of time, I'm surprised how affordable toilets are. I guess the individual hands on time isn't that long.

At the end, they showed a couple of sinks. I hope people aren't pissing in the sink...

***** I've know it since my birth. Toilet bowls _are indeed the answer_. No wonder why the world is going so bad. They... they just don't know. Oh, and yes, weed and booze probably as well.
Thank you fellow brother! From this day on, I shall spread the Good News!

EqualsThreeable two years later...do you still remember that day you were sitting on that toilet? pondering two different things; how toilets are made and what you ate before that day which allowed you to sit comfortably, luxuriously on that ceramic throne.

You are correct regarding the raw materials but as you can see it is a fairly labor intensive process. This could be an older manufacturing facility but there does not seem to be a whole lot of automation going on here. Perhaps that has changed since this video.

They're glazed, not painted; and fired, not baked.

+Ulises Ulises Indeed... and who in the world still talks about "Centigrade". It was my father's word and he just hated this new-fangled "Celsius" nonsense (conveniently forgetting "Fahrenheit" was also named after a person. And Volt, Watt, Amp...).

Well, LOL.... I use C actually, but Im weird, my friends use F. I fire my earthenware at 1,000 to 1,050C (∆06-∆05) and I also do 1,222C (∆6). The video should be really old, that yellow glaze they're spraying on the toilet is horrid and outdated. And there is no way they would be allowed to glaze without a mask nowadays, it can be very dangerous in long term. 1,176C is actually in the low fire range, definitely not porcelaine (and if the clay is, it s not fired to maturity). I would say and not . They should have gotten some little help from a potter or a ceramic artist to make the video.

    • @christopherbedford9897
