- What 12 handicap golf REALLY looks like!
In my first real (not simulator) course vlog for a while, I take on Longridge Golf Club in Lancashire, England; A beautiful golf course with STUNNING scenery and views! Every shot is shown in this round of golf to see if I can play to my current handicap of 12, where I am ultimately trying my very best to break 80!

Hello Mitch. I have really been enjoying your videos. I have been playing golf for 35 years but I have always been horrible. I am finally at a place in my life where I want to really improve and be a real golfer instead of a hacker haha... Watching you has inspired me. I started taking lessons from an amazing PGA pro in my area and I just purchased a SkyTrak and GS Pro and I am loving it all. I wanted an easier way to get many swings in per day and good repeatable practice and you showed me how to do just that but from my garage. 😀 Please show us real golf and simulator play. Both are wonderful to watch. Thank you for your great content. You are really helping so many! Swing on!
Jeff, thank you very much for the kind words! Good luck with your journey I hope you make plenty of improvement with your SkyTrak and take lots of enjoyment out of GSPro! Work on your distance control and your ball striking and hopefully they will help you make progress!
Great real life golf. Your sim golf helping you a lot like it does on mine. Don't be so harsh on yourself Mitch. You are a great golf player and a super TH-camr. YOU got me into sim golf with Skytrak. Thanks again!
Ah thanks Daniel I appreciate that comment! Top man 🙌🏼⛳️
Love the on course vlogs. It’s like watching myself. Leaving everything short with the flat stick + approach. Gotta be more confident + club up and aim for the back of greens at our level. Then the slight mis hits will land in the middle of the green
Thanks mate. Yes it’s funny how we all struggle with the same issues, you’d think we would learn 😂
Im a newer member of this golf club, its brilliant and I can’t wait to play it in summer. The par 4 after the b2b par 3’s in winter is played about 120 yds behind 😮
It’s a great club! ⛳️
"Get in there!!!" :D:D:D
I love it. For me, it's a pleasure to see both, you on the simulator and on real courses!
🤣🤣 thanks for the feedback Cedric ⛳️🙌🏼
I'm playing at your club tomorrow in a seniors' comp. This video has given me a good idea of the layout of the course and hazards. Cheers Mitch.
Good luck mate! ⛳️
@@hcpgolf We got battered!! However, I loved the course 👍
Oh no! It's a tough track when you haven't played it before. I've played it a million times and I still think it's one of the toughest courses I've played!
Really digged this course vlog. I think the idea of saving the money on the membership and going to play different courses next year is a good idea. Being from the midwest USA it's nice to see different courses throughout the UK
Awesome, thank you for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed 🙌🏼⛳️
WoW awesome sandwedge touch, tip... short hits never go in. and how beautiful the field is, thanks for this type of videos combined with the simulation ones, I love it
Haha thanks mate I appreciate the comment! It’s a lovely place!
Very enjoyable video, the views from the course are spectacular! Love those chip ins that look like they are going to fly off the green but smash into the pin and drop.
Thanks pal! Ye those lucky chip in's are a right bonus 🤣
Good video mate! Really enjoyed this content, first time watching your channel!
Thanks very much mate I appreciate the feedback! Welcome to the channel 🙌🏼⛳️
Great video - I'd like to see both. I'm in the process of purchasing a new golf simulator for the sole purpose of finally focusing on getting better at golf. Tired of hearing that I would be good if I practiced. My ultimate goal is to be able to play a round from the championship tees and shoot under 90. Just want to prove that to myself. Showing how using the golf simulator has helped you get back down your single handicap would be great for me. I'd love to see the on-course vlogs.
I am in a similar position as I have stopped using the simulator for practice and instead just play courses, and my game is more inconsistent than it once was! When you get your sim I am sure you’ll start to see progress in your game and break 90 from the back tees in no time! Thanks for the comment ⛳️
Gr8 chip in mitch when needed aswell :) Pesonally I come for the skytrak and GS Pro content now more then ever cos i have my own set up in the shiped for delivery in the next 7 days thanks to your videos. Love the 18 holes rounds on GS Pro and you playin different GS Pro courses so then we can go and download them and the WEB tour vlogs because im playing on it soon :) But i think over the winter months if you combined the skytrak videos then went and did real course vlogs it would show Skytrak and GS Pro will improve your golf and links the channel content nicely, just my 2 cents tho :)
Love the feedback mate thank you very much! I appreciate you tuning in and I’m glad my videos have been able to help 🙂 good luck with your new setup I’m sure you’ll enjoy! ⛳️
First time watching. Man, looks like you’re golfing in my area ( Cape Breton…..NS…..Canada). Looks just like it! Couple of simple errors, no big deal. But also a couple of awesome putts and pitches too. Your game ( ball strike, course management…) is good. Could easily see you getting down to an 8. I noticed the comment below about getting rid of negative vibes. Here is a simple thing to remember: on that last missed par putt, how much prize money did you lose? I’m guessing none. Watch some different TH-camrs. Mia Baker great example,….missed putt and laughs off her mistake. You play a good game, you have a channel, beautiful course…..enjoy it buddy. Hope this past year was good to you! Cheers buddy, from Canada 🇨🇦
Absolutely love that comment, thanks mate! 🙌🏼⛳️
Good round Midge looked a lovely course . Be good to see a on course round every know and then bit of variety from Sim content 🍻🍻Cheers
Thanks mate and thanks for your feedback 👍🏼⛳️
I would like to see all, Sim golf course vlogs & vlogs with the mates, enjoy all your vidoes
Thanks for the feedback Peter 👍🏼⛳️
Enjoying the content Mitch, looks a nice course.
Thanks Gary!
I just came across your channel today and for me personally I enjoy the golf vlogs - but I watch anything golf really. I also have an indoor simulator built around a GC3 so I enjoy that content as well, however, I much prefer vlogs - but since I am new to the channel I will have to defer to your regular subs. I will say you have a knack for the filming and commentary, plus you're a more "average" golfer which a lot of people prefer over watching someone who shoots scratch - it's just not that interesting. I can see how you once had a single digit handicap though...and you're right, you need to be playing or practicing two or three times a week to maintain that level of play.
Since I am somewhat of a golf vlog junkie let me give you my two cents. From a content perspective you are one of the better YT vloggers out there and I watch a lot of golf vlogs. I realize it takes a lot of time to film and edit content so you might want to do nine hole vlogs instead of 18. Playing nine holes is pretty quick but also allows time for additional commentary and other interesting things about the course or area which some people seem to like, plus you can play a variety of courses which people like as well. And you could also split any 18 hole rounds into two shorter videos giving you more content. You could also focus more on simulation during the off season and switch to more vlog content from spring through fall. Just some thoughts mate. Look forward to seeing more vlogs and checking out the simulation content. Cheers
Alan, now that’s some proper feedback! Thanks very much for that I really appreciate it! Thanks for coming to the channel and I hope you enjoy the simulator content as well. Great ideas for the future I hope you continue to watch 🙌🏼⛳️
@@hcpgolf One thing you can expect from me is proper feedback. I'm the chatty type. Actually I do recall seeing some of your videos before when I was in the market for a golf simulator setup. Like I said I built mine around the GC3. I am limited right now due to a 9 foot ceiling height, but hope to build an addition at some point to house everything. Still it does the job over the winter to work on my swing which is what I got it for really. Plus I can take the GC3 outside and use it with my Net Return Pro or even to the range. Not for everyone though due to the price, but for an old retired guy like me it was a no brainer.
I love your videos, keep up the good work, and, get in there.
🤣🤣 thanks you!
Good video, got to go for the green on the 17th though 😂
Thanks mate ⛳️ Yes I am fully aware I’m a massive wimp for laying up - had a decent score going though didn’t I 😂
Would def enjoy diff courses but whatever works for you! Sim and irl golf is all good stuff.
Felt weird seeing you swinging a driver 😂
Haha yes I bet 😂 I think I will likely do both in the future but will see once my membership expires. Thanks for your feedback it is much appreciated 👍🏼⛳️
Hey Mitch, great content. I think you need to continue with a mix of sim and course vlogs as everyone can then join you on your journey of improvement and see where they can relate. Similarly, I got myself a Mevo+ (garden setup) and with a busy life, find I can only just manage a swift 9 holes now and again but really ought to commit to using the practice software. Just out of interest, which ball tracking software are you using?, I could see it being good fun on the weekend knocks with the lads, cheers.
Thanks for the feedback Lee I appreciate it! I use the app called Shot Tracer 👍🏼
Nice round mate. How good is the view. Epic
Thanks pal, yes a beautiful place to play golf (on a nice day!) 😂
Should of been a free drop on that par 3 was a solid pole in your way
Solid pole aka tree trunk? 😂
You are quite comical going about the course lol
Haha I am glad you enjoyed! 😂⛳️
Mitch I play off 4 and bogey par 5s so don’t think you shouldn’t be bogeying them
I know I’m being a little harsh on myself it’s just on paper a short par 5 should be easy work 😂
First time I have seen one of your videos (I was looking for videos on Longridge GC) which enjoyed except for the swearing and cursing. Enjoy your golf, and I'm sure you will play better.
Thanks mate ⛳️
Hey great video man... for 12 handicap you're very hard on yourself! stop focusing on net results, its the gross that make the difference ; )
Haha thanks mate. Yes I am - it’s one of those games isn’t it where you always think you could do better 😂
8th hole was decent pal 👀
Here he is 😳🤣
Just cum across this channel Where's is near this course m8
It’s near Preston in Lancashire 👍🏼⛳️
@@hcpgolf sound m8 I'm off 10.7 keep up the good content esp on courses as fishwick hall gone now

Sounds good mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Seriously: Stop speaking negative words. I know this from being a professional at a different sport. Negative self talk (words like dang, damn it, idiot) Drop those words and you WILL see improvement. Conversely, don’t lie to yourself with over grandiose self talk…..just dump the negative ones.….let me know if you apply this. Cheers!
Haha ok I will give it a go. What should I try to do/say instead? Because it's quite automatic for those words to come out when I hit a bad shot! 😂
Oh, my new friend, I could soooo help you with that! I’ve been coaching and teaching athletic self talk for years! It’s absolutely vital to any performance athlete. To start, you need to understand yourself. Are you seeking PERFECTION in your game? Or, EXCELLENCE? I can tell by your self talk, how you move on the course, reactions to good and poor shots that you seek PERFECTION. (most do) I will give you the first step towards fixing your self talk but I must say this little exercise in your game well, I already know what your response will be. Anyway, it’s a bit of a pain but I guarantee it’s the first step towards improving your total game. Carry a little notebook with you. After every shot, write down the first word(s) that come into your mind. Now, you have to be 100% honest or this won’t work. Try that for every shot you take for the front 9 and get back to me. Remember, it must be the first word(s), or thought that enters your brain immediately after the shot! @@hcpgolf
