  • Those few options that you don't choose often or get there... what do you usually do with the Orthon? Do you chat with him or you just start the fight?
    Check out my other videos if you are curious for different scenes. Let me know if you are curious for any scene that you can't find and I will post it for you. I've recorded pretty much all conversations with Astarion.
    Also I have to say that the actors in this game are amazing!
    Thank you for watching this and come by to my stream on Twitch sometimes (Every Tuesday 21:00 CEST)!

    That last comment the Orthon said cracks me up 😂 Also Astarion is so impatient 😅

      I always imagine my Tav screaming a panicked "shut up shut up shut up shut up! I am working SO hard right now!" Through the tadpole link lol

      @@duvallnic2 Same 😂 Astarion is a rouge and my Tav was doing the persuasion to have the Orthon unalive himself. How did Astarion not see this coming? She got two disapprovals from him before he caught on. 😆 Afterwards she made him thank her 💅

    I saw the orthon fight once when my husband played it and didn't like it. For my own playthroughs I keep loading until I pass that damned insight check. So far all my characters were bad at insight, but very persuasive and somehow I love the concept of telling someone to die and they'll actually do it.
    "It's all for a good cause - me." is such a wonderful line that I would surely not know without this video. And it's so true. Astarion is literally the reason why I wanted to play BG3 in the first place.

      Haha, nice! It is a good line indeed.
      When I started playing I didn't know you can talk to Yrgir and always did the fight... until one day I wanted to do the temple's mystery with the rats and I thought that the Orthon will know. So I spoke with him and a whole new quest appeared 😅
      But if you do it, then you don't help Astarion... which I did 9/10 times 😅🤷‍♀

      I pass the insight check with high wisdom. So if you go to that place where you have to fight Oliver. Pass the rolls inside and gain Shar’s favor in intelligence, charisma, and wisdom. You have the upper hand in dealing with all the shadowland 3 bosses.

      talking to him as a bard or warlock will automatically bypass the insight check, which is great because you'll already need high charisma for the rest of the encounter.

    And if you convince Yurgir to just off his team and himself, your companions will then give unique lines about it, I don’t remember exactly what they said but Laezels was something like “I was looking forward to fighting an Orthon, what a shame”, Karlachs comment was relief at not having to fight an Orthon (I assume she has fought them before), Gales comment was basically “I am both aroused by and scared of you right now”, Astarion just says “that counts right, that had better count” (Yurgirs death for Raphael’s deal).

    • @resonatinglo
      @resonatinglo  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Exactly... I didn';t want to risk it, if it didn't count for Astarion so I have never actually done it :D

    • @elenalizabeth
      @elenalizabeth 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@resonatinglo it does still count because Yurgir is still dead, so Raphael still shows up at camp to honour the deal to tell Astarion about the scars. Even if you do the route to “get Yurgir out of the deal” by killing all the rats, I think it still counts for the deal too, though I haven’t tested that one (but I kinda want to because in a video I saw on it, one of the Merregon becomes a temporary trader and sells Orthonic explosives)

      @@elenalizabeth Helping Yurgir fulfill the contract means Raphael won't reveal anything about Astarion's scars. And you'll have to pass a check to convince him to stay in your party.

    I remember on my first playthrough with the Orthon; the moment Astarion lost patience with me, I legit panicked a bit and just decided to select the option to attack it!😂
