I really want to play origin Astarion but I miss his voice lines so much 😭

On the one hand Astarion totally fits Gale's body language and facial expressions. But then PC Astarion is looking at Gale Astarion with such a WTF facial expression, like he can't make out is this meant to be an insult, a compliment or both.

These weapons are classic old school game design. You encounter a wizard with a bunch of hook horrors that scream to call reinforcements. If only you could silence them with a hit. The reward is a weapon with silence on hit. Its like killing a red dragon to get scales to make armor that resists fire damage.

The look on his face when he says "really?" gets me every time. So fucking good. AND the way he looks when you're about to hug him, like he's so surprised someone would come close to him like that. he looks angry or afraid, disgusted, at first, then shocked, then... oh... wait... she's not gonna hurt me. fuck. my freaking heart.

I need a moment to nerd out but Something I feel everyone misses when you let Astarion Ascend is that you're not just killing those 7,000 people, they're going to the hells to be tortured in ways only a devil can, to become formless blobs that are often used as the paper a devil's contract is written on, and if they're lucky enough not to be absorbed by the hells, or to die of the agony or brutality, they may one day become a higher form of devil themself. But so very few survive the very environment they are forced into. You're not just killing them, you're subjugating them to more torture and more enslavement. This is not and was never meant to be the morally correct answer. You're not putting them out of their misery, you're amplifying it.

So this is non-romanced AA right? 😮 Do you have a video of non-romanced Spawn Astarion reacting to this? Also, pls correct me if I’m wrong, but if AA/SA is romanced, isn’t the only line that is added here the one where he asks you not to transform?

Astarion is just happy to have anybody who cares for him at all. A confidant who is compassionate and understanding of his plight.

Tbh, when I saw the title all I could hear was Astarion (or maybe Gale) going "Who's a good dark urge? Who's a good dark urge? Are you a good dark urge? Yes you are, Yes you are!" I don't even have a dog.

I've seen this several times and it still thrills and moves to tears each time. Especially the bit that we can't undo our past, but we can strive to be better, that's a lesson everyone needs. Also love Astarion having to jump in to say your not a monster, you can feel how after his last two hundred years he doesn't know how to say it but wants you to understand it, with the added subtext that if you're not a monster and have saved him then he's not a monster either. Very powerful scene, thanks for posting, it deserves way more likes.

I did not get any other choice if i wanted to keep astarion, i did not get the persuasion option either and i hate both these endings

First time player and no matter wich way the game gos an I don't intend on romancing anyone in this game,i could never be so mean to any of them like ive seen in some play thrus of this game including this one

I have been doing a hero play through. I Have just Murderized only bad guys. I am at 66. Which is was not to hard to do. A few points lower than when I kill the hunter and a few others. Shovel is Bored I am sure. But It's Fun to do Hero play throughs and Romance him too. I always wonder why people have issues. I just say a few snarky things and He is a happy vampire. LOl

i bought this game early in the Early Access release, mostly because I saw gifs of him and wanted to know what was his deal. and then i waited almost 3 years for a full release and couldn't wait to finally do a full romance run with Astarion! and then i got to this scene. befriending him felt like the best option. i wasn't even sad that i ended the romance path early. he needs me as a friend, not as a lover, and i think that's just as - if not more - valuable. god i love this game.

I overall like playing the dark urge over tav, it just brings so much more into the game

I love how Gale’s reaction to Shadowheart dying is “damn, that’s crazy” and then immediately moves on 💀

Wow, the voice acting is SO amazing. You can hear the pain and vulnerability in his voice, its amazing. Especially when you first pressure him and he seems a little caught off guard, a little betrayed, but he pushes it away until after when he can process everything

Why didn’t I get these options??

Love both paths (romance and friendship) so much. But honestly, if you're planning on going the friendship path, I'd advise people to trigger this version of the confession rather than the other. Why? To be fair, as important as it still is, this version feels more... situational than the post-Yurgir one. He dwells on and expresses his own feelings after the event with Araj, he seeks comfort from a person he trusts - but there's hardly any emphasis on his romantic feelings towards Tav/the PC. The post-Yurgir one is very romantic in its nature imo, so saying "let's just be friends instead", actually feels kind of... harsh. He's talking like his own feelings have been eating at him for quite a bit. He bears a lot of guilt, knowing that he's wronged this person that's been decent towards him and that he's also started to have real feelings for. He just decides that it's time to face the music, even though he's clearly scared of being hated by them after they get to hear his truth. First and foremost, Astarion wants feel safe and free, so he's motivated by building allyships and defeating Cazador. Afterwards, I'd actually say that he's motivated by love, in whatever form that comes. Of course he's never going to say no to friendship when it's offered, it's still love. I however think that Astarion is still a hopeless romantic at heart, and that part of him kind of surfaces in either paths. At the epilogue, if "friendzoned", I believe he has dialogue in which he admits he'd thought about how it would've been like if him and the PC were to still be involved. If on a pure friendship route, i believe he expresses that he would've liked to have shared his time with a partner of his own? He wants to be trusted and to trust back, to be loved and to love back. If it's not Tav that is his partner, then he'd probably still hold onto the idea to find another partner one day.
