Oooooooh myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy goooooodness Mazda has done it again!!!! How they so seemlessly merge soul stirring and passionate design into a practical package blows my mind!!!! Even more so, how they don't manage to sell more vehicles than they currently do is baffling!!!
I just leased the Grand Touring version last week only from my previous 2 Mazda experiences alone('08 CX-7 and the wife's '15 CX-9) on the need that my CX-7 is starting to have high mileage woes. I wasn't even thinking about purchasing another car and I work for a Nissan Dealership. I've seen so many CVT issues come through our shop I have learned to stay away from those brands that have adopted them. I couldn't be happier! This car is by far, next to my wife's CX-9, the best car purchase I have ever made.
Polestar Wes, know someone with a new 2018 Accord with the 2.0L Turbo engine and 10-speed tranny....engine has already stalled as it wouldn’t start one time and it was in the shop for 2wks as engine had to be overhauled! Yikes! Not as reliable anymore as Honda’s in the past...even their 1.5T has oil dilution issues and pathetic they had to use CVT for those! People are so blinded by Honda’s reliability reputation...

I'm getting mine on Sept 28. I had a hard choice between the Soul Red or Machine Grey Metallic. I ultimately chose the grey because I thought it looked more elegant. Hopefully I made the right decision!
have you seen it in real life. Its just a wow, unbelievable color. I would say color combination of red and black, especially under the sun. This is a new color. When I was getting my 2017.5 mazda 6 they didn't have it on a 6, so I end up with machine gray with parchment interior.
A GM, yup. Glad I went with a 6 and not those other two! Just picked up mine (new 2019 Sport trim) as it was on clearance and saved over $6K from MSRP...it came out cheaper than a base Corolla, Civic, 3, Elantra, Forte which are all a class below and way way cheaper than Accord and Camry! Best part of it - the 6 is not too common on the road where as the other two you see out there every 5 mins!
@@ztekz glad to hear that. Enjoy it! I want to say, the fact that I live in Europe ( Romania) and there are so so so few ( you may count them on fingers, litterally). In my life, i've seen only 2 camrys for so long. And i struggle one week to search in towns for a honda accord. Therefore, somehow, mazda 6 is more common here ( maximum 1 per 2 days I see one out of 100k cars passing by) and even so, I would choose one. FedoraMcGentlesir Forest Auto Reviews just conducted a 2 part comparison review on the Mazda 6 Signature, Accord 2.0T Touring, and Camry XSE V6. Long videos, but well worth the time.
FedoraMcGentlesir Me too. Motortrend just did a strange review between the 6 and the CX-5. They were able to get a 0-60 of 6.4 secs. Definitely not as fast as the Accord, but respectable compared to the normally aspirated 2.5.
FYI, Android Auto and Apple Carplay is available. My new Mazda6 GT has it, and I've been using it. BTW, after test driving the new Accord, Camry, and Sonota, I kept coming back to the Mazda6. There's just something about the driving experience that puts it above the rest. It's almost like you wear the car, and become one with the car when driving. The 6 may not win the 0-60 times, but when you look at track numbers and passing numbers (50-70), it competes with the Accord and Camry. The Accord felt too much like I was driving a car simulator..., it lacked feedback into the steering wheel. I can see why people who want a car to "drive easy" might prefer the Honda, but if you want to engage with the road, the Mazda is the way to go. The 2018 is much more quite, and the Turbo gives it some much needed punch. The infotainment needs a facelift. I wish it was open source, because I could make some basic tweaks over the weekend to improve it dramatically. I would make sure favorites appear on the main radio page by simply pressing down on the command stick, and then allow to rotate through them. Pressing up would allow the user to "tune" the radio by rotating the command dial. I would allow the main menu to cycle all the way around. These are just quick little things that would instantly make it better. I would also add an "automatic" favorites option. Based on the duration one listens to radio stations, it would automatically add and sort favorite radio stations. The same auto favorites could apply to locations, and callers.
Craig if you ever need your self esteem raised just read your comments. They are crushing on you more than the car. Kudos to Mazda for its continued improvement.
Best car that nobody buys...sad but true - not literally nobody buys as the sales are paltry but wish it was more popular as this car is totally underrated! A Diamond in the rough!
Totally agree with this guy. And this is just a mid cycle refresh. Imagine when they totally redone the car, I'm sure it'll be great. The interior is beautiful, maybe the brown color could be a little bit brighter, the seats could be a bit more hugging, reducing cabin noises, a new information system, a panoramic sunroof. Outside, the car could be a bit lower, I just love the front end, they just need to make that more aggressive, no need to change it. I would love to see fog lights back, it really brightens up the front. The car has been phenomenal in terms of driving dynamic since 2014, but I would love to see them adding more gears since it has so much torque. I could be asking for too much but if they could do one of the things. Woah, I will be sold. Ps, I'm still happy with the car now.
Agree with a lot of your wants, except that the reducing cabin noise has been more than accomplished. It's the most silent of the 3. I and many others who test drove back to back the cars can confirm it. At least on the GT and Signature tires. :)
some videos from car salesmen making videos and car reviewers disagree on whether there is or there is NO fog lights...salesman say the paperwork they get from the manufacturer says the fog lights are integrated, but some reviewers cannot believe that as the fog lights would be placed too high off the ground. What is autoguide.com's take?
Love your review and you forgot buddy. The Mazda is much better looking than both the Camry and ugly duckling Accord. When will the comparison of the three. I heard it was real wood Sig trim
maurice benton My first car was a CRX and my first new car was a 93 Civic Coupe. I am completely ok with that, however, I currently own a 2009 Mazda 6, with 6spd manual, and I love the 2014-2018 Mazda 6 exterior style, have ever since they came out, and eventually I will replace my 2G 6. Just wish you could get the 2.5T with the manual.
I own 2018 cx5. There is no issue on its infotainment system. It is very simple but but it functions as supposed to. Much easier to navigate than one on Lexus.
The Tesla Model 3 might become (through over-the-air upgrades) the sedan perfected, eventually. But, for now, the Mazda 6 is about as good as it gets in this mature market segment.
Honda just needs to put a V6 in again and I think they will appease their haters who have bought Camrys instead and their sales will take off once again!
Pleas help me ... I wnna advic about what should i buy .. Sonata 2018 or mazda 6 2018 .. I like the sonata from inside its better and bigger .. Also in mazda 6 Insulation of ground are really bad but its made in japan .. On the other hand the sonata made in koren becouse of that maby it will have more problem than the mazda after 4 years .. So what should i buy and why ..?
Everything is gorgeous except that digital touch display. It looks like a bolted-on aftermarket accessory--a total afterthought. Why not integrate it into the dash?
jamc204 that’s the trend now. Audis and bmws do it this way. Personally i like it. Other cars also have it somewhere in between. Not on top of the dash like this, and not totally integrated. But kind of hanging on the dash, like the Accord or Malibu, for example. Personally, i find the ones that are integrated into the dadh to be a dated look now. Like an old tv sitting in an entertainment center instead of on top of a console or habging on the wall
I think the benefit is that you don't have to look all the way down to see the screen. It's important to to keep an eye as well on the street when you're looking at the screen. Also I like that you can't use the touch screen while you're driving.
I think it looks better than the Honda Accord, a million times better than the tremendously ugly Toyota Camry, but not as nice as the Hyundai Sonata. The Sonata can be had for a lot less money with much bigger dealer discounts, and Hyundai dealers stock interiors other than death-coffin-black, which is what you always find at Mazda dealers. That said, the Mazda 6 probably does handle better than any of the mentioned automobiles and maybe it looks better in a different color. It still has a little Batman Joker grin on the front grill I don't like, but maybe a silver painted car would reduce that effect. Bottom line, I would say both the Sonata and the Mazda 6 are winners in the class and both are good cars.
I absolutely hate the looks of the huge screens sitting on the dash of the recent Toyotas! Just an awful look, plus it can interfere with a person's view out the front window! By comparison, the screens in the newer Mazda's are quite discreet.

No manual transmission option on the turbo engine is a huge disappointment. I was waiting for it and now I'm going to it the Honda Accord manual. Mazda is not for drivers anymore
It looks greatttttt. HOWEVER. I'm so disappointed that Mazda again has decided to shaft its lower trim customers. Just like the last generations refresh, only the higher trims get the goodies. This time it's worse. I have a 2017 Mazda 6 Sport, the lowest trim, so I don't get the fancy refreshed face that was only available in GT models. In this new generation, ONLY the GT Reserve and above get the LED headlights. GT and below do NOT get LED headlights. It's so disappointing because they claim LED is standard, but it's not. This time the GT doesn't even get the LED headlights. I also test drove it and I feel as though it is not enough of an upgrade from my 2017 model. The new interior and exterior is very nice, but technology wise it's not that much of an upgrade and the noise is only very slightly improved. Throttle feels the same. It's just not aggressive enough. They also made the steering lighter, no idea why. But all in all, it's a great car. It truly shines in the highest trims.

You mean 'if' they add AA and CarPlay. Mazda has been promising it is coming soon for 3+ years. unlikely this year is any different.
Kaesden they’re rolling out an update for it soon
they've been saying 'soon' for years.
Just about everything is spicy about this car, sans the infotainment. If they just redesigned that alone, this car would be nearly perfect.
I like how Audi brags about elegant design but in reality Mazdas are more elegant than newer Audis.....
Audi's design is getting stale and boring. They can only be tech savvy to catch attention these days. But still useless.
That minimalistic interior design is so attractive.
Perfection stays in simplicity sometimes. Totally agree

Marc Scordato they lost my sale with not offering a manual transmission option on the turbo engine
Distribution and marketing are key. For instance, Mazda sells really well in Australia where the strategy is more comprehensive
Blake Swan they don't have enough sales for it.
What did you choose instead?
Blake Swan Mazda would have a lot more it they added a manual with the turbo. Go foe the NA 4 cylinder with a manual

Travis S, well said bro!
"Enough room for lanky passengers".... Looking at you Engineering Explained 🤪😂😂😂
Craig if you ever need your self esteem raised just read your comments. They are crushing on you more than the car. Kudos to Mazda for its continued improvement.
Yes Mazda those lines on the car are far more better than Accord
Still waiting for my Mazda KAI
It's just sooo fuckin' awesome 😍
Really great review, for normal people, to the point.
Vic haha. I knew i asked for too much. But this is all possible and reasonable, isn't it.
Quân Anh for the most part yes ;)
some videos from car salesmen making videos and car reviewers disagree on whether there is or there is NO fog lights...salesman say the paperwork they get from the manufacturer says the fog lights are integrated, but some reviewers cannot believe that as the fog lights would be placed too high off the ground. What is autoguide.com's take?
Such a beautiful car..
Love your review and you forgot buddy. The Mazda is much better looking than both the Camry and ugly duckling Accord. When will the comparison of the three. I heard it was real wood Sig trim
Emanuele Favuzza
Check out Forest Auto Reviews. Just did a 2 part comparison test on the Mazda 6 Signature.

My first car was a CRX and my first new car was a 93 Civic Coupe. I am completely ok with that, however, I currently own a 2009 Mazda 6, with 6spd manual, and I love the 2014-2018 Mazda 6 exterior style, have ever since they came out, and eventually I will replace my 2G 6. Just wish you could get the 2.5T with the manual.
Hello Emanuele. the 2017 accord looks really nice.
Wow, you guys really showcased the terrible state of Michigan roads in this one.
Any place that sees a snowplow has similar wrecked streets. I'm in NE Ohio. You don't want to see the roads we've got here.
I own 2018 cx5. There is no issue on its infotainment system. It is very simple but but it functions as supposed to. Much easier to navigate than one on Lexus.
The wood trim is real wood not fake.
steve gallagher, he did indicate trims were “real” wood but looked fake (to him)...
Complaining over real wood trim oh please stop it, I rather have the aluminum trim over any kind of wood trim it’s a sport sedan not a old man sedan.
I disagree about the infotainment, I quite like it.
The Tesla Model 3 might become (through over-the-air upgrades) the sedan perfected, eventually. But, for now, the Mazda 6 is about as good as it gets in this mature market segment.
Finally!!!!! Okay to watch this.
Honda just needs to put a V6 in again and I think they will appease their haters who have bought Camrys instead and their sales will take off once again!
Love that color and the car overall. Can tell this was filmed in S.E. MI- the roads are cracked and heaved!
Snowplows.
Gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥
My Next Car.....Touring Model
Lmao this reviewer is awesome!
1st comment and this car so much nice
Pleas help me ... I wnna advic about what should i buy .. Sonata 2018 or mazda 6 2018 .. I like the sonata from inside its better and bigger .. Also in mazda 6 Insulation of ground are really bad but its made in japan .. On the other hand the sonata made in koren becouse of that maby it will have more problem than the mazda after 4 years .. So what should i buy and why ..?
I have seen the red in person, and it is stunning! Accord may be a little better value, but just splitting hairs.
Best looking mazda 6 yet ppd job zoom zoom all the way
I didn’t know that Idubbbz reviews cars
What’s better the Honda Accord, Chevy Malibu or Mazda 6 and reason why?
What about rear seat head and leg room?
$36k lol I don't need backseats, or practicality. Can I get an amen for not having kids? $36k can buy a MX-5 RF GT.
u can get it used for
❤ mazda ❤
Nice car but the screen sticking up on the dash like they didn't know what to do with it is a common design fail I really dislike.
I absolutely hate the looks of the huge screens sitting on the dash of the recent Toyotas! Just an awful look, plus it can interfere with a person's view out the front window! By comparison, the screens in the newer Mazda's are quite discreet.
Craig Cole is straight gangsta...
I wonder, Mazda 6 turbo or the Genesis g70 2.0t?
casualsuede
Mazda 6 signature.
even though it wouldn't help sales, this car would be complete with a nice v6
Do a review of the base model Mazda 6 as well. Something ppl will actually buy instead of the top trim which while fancy, not many ppl will buy.
There are three trim levels with the 2.5T, two (Sport and Touring) with the 2.5NA.
Mazda beste Auto Nummer eins und zuverlässig 👍👍👍
Wow digital gauge way better than granny's camry...
Great reviewer
MAZDA ♡
Honda Odyessey minivan is as fast says Motor Trend.
Norm T
Lol norm T hater.
Malibu lol.

The Mazda 6 2.5T has the same 1/4 mile trap speed of 93.4 mph as the Accord 2.0T 10-speed.
But the Malibu 2.0T has a higher trap speed than Accord 2.0T and is 0.4 faster around figure eight test and leads this field.
"...the quarter mile in 14.3 seconds at 99.4 mph."
"The 2017 Malibu lapped the figure eight in 26.3 seconds at 0.70 g lateral average and pulled 0.88 g around the skidpad." Where the 6 2.5T was slower at 26.7s
The Malibu 2.0T blows the Mazda6 2.5T(33 mpg hwy) away in highway fuel economy with 37 mpg. Motor Trend
The Mazda cannot put the power down or cannot distribute tire grip in braking on the figure-8 test and will be two full car lengths behind at .4 in arrears at 40 mph speed during the 27s test compared to the Malibu 2.0T. The Malibu will be quieter, ride better and have lower NVH than Mazda, regardless of what the magazines reviews say.
No manual transmission option on the turbo engine is a huge disappointment. I was waiting for it and now I'm going to it the Honda Accord manual. Mazda is not for drivers anymore
I've seen better reviews this car is awesome 😎
Is it just me or are these car companies coming up with all sorts of engine innovations all of a sudden? VC-Turbo, Skyactive, etc.
Mazda certainly is. They are at the forefront of gasoline engine technology in road cars. Just wait for SkyActiv-X, will be great.
Review the $36k turbo, sells the base model turboless base at the end. Review of a turbo car dont apply to 2.5NA engine. Intentionally misleading
How much is it?
7:29 $36,435 as tested.
Which would you have: real wood that looks fake or fake wood that looks real? 😂
2st Comment and this car so much luxury
Now they just need a car with RWD that seats more than 2 people.
Those brakes look so small!
Nice car nice review
I have a 2003 Mazda 6.
I don't care if Honda offered a manual transmission on every trim level...I would never buy a butt-f**k ugly Accord over this Mazda.
