I'm wishing a publisher will be smart enough to reprint those Russ Cochran EC Library Oversized Hardcover Editions

Excellent analysis and presentation. Do you happen to know if there's a difference in the paper used between the Dark Horse HC and PB ? What about the colors between those two ? Thanks. Thumb up.

The paper in the Dark Horse book is ever so slightly thicker in feel. The color looks a little brighter and deeper in the Dark Horse one too. Though if you buy the recent paperback Dark Horse releases the paper quality is much thinner and cheaper.

Which is the best one among these 5 volumes ? From Tales from the crypt (5 HC volumes) and Vault of horror (5 HC volumes)

Spirit Orbs at 0:42! Careful dude, that's what happens when you get into dark shit

Interesting, you think that was a real demon or dark spirit?

Has the Gemstone volume been recolorized ?

Dark Horse re-released volume 1 but sadly not volume 2 which seems to be the hardest to find.

I watched this looking to see a comparison of the coloration on the stories from the two different publishers as there have been a lot of complaints about that.

Nothing that's bothered me though the Dark Horse colors do look deeper and brighter.

There is pretty much no difference between the two. They both use Marie Severin's color palette.
I bailed on the hard covers and have been getting the Dark Horse trade versions, they started over and have been doing them all from volume 1.

Thanks for the review, man. Wasn’t aware the library editions were B/W. will probably avoid them, thanks!

They are beautiful books but I do prefer being able to enjoy the rich colours. If I didn't already have the Library I'd buy the Crypt Archive series.

I have the Tales From The Crypt library edition and the black and white formate is gorgeous, you can really see all the wonderful details in the art and it add to the atmosphere of the horror stories. I'd love to get the rest!
