I notice in live performances that Cadogan does something completely different to either of what we see at 0:09, I guess that is his best attempt to try and combine the 2 different actions into something which sounds good! Also, I notice at 2:50 it is typically Stephan who would be doing most of the lead guitar actions in a live performance, although perhaps that is mainly just for show!
Yeah man you hit the nail on the head. Cadogan did play a lot of these songs different back then and most of the time he was just improvising but also trying to fill the gap of Stephan’s playing. It’s insane how they made all of that work.
That means so much man! Thanks a lot. Yeah I guess that’s why I’ve covered them so thoroughly was due to the lack of guitar covers of their early material with Cadogan. I spent so many years learning the first 2 records I figured this would be a good way to showcase it all.
@@BDKelso2000 hell yea and no prob and id kill to be able to play the blue record and out of the vein on guitar. Definitely my favorite guitar playing of any record cadogen is criminally underrated. Im a drummer so i can basically play all of their stuff but now im learning on guitar and its gonna be a long process lol
@@RichLclips Nice! I’m hoping eventually to do a few lessons for some of the Blue tracks, same with Self-Titled and OOTV. My hope is to do it through a service like patreon only because there isn’t a huge demand for 3eb lessons here on YT, in my opinion. I understand where you are coming from making a transition from Drums to Guitar. One thing you’ve probably already encountered is the various tunings KC and TF used. It makes selecting a set of strings tough because of the tension it might have if you attempt to detune. If only I had a Time Machine to take you back to the years and years I spent learning this stuff. It’s crazy how far I came.
Interesting choice. I love Thanks A Lot and it would probably make my top 5 off the debut but my number 1 overall is “Wounded” from Blue and “The Background” would be a close second making it my favorite on the debut. Fun fact, Kevin once stated that “The Background” almost didn’t make the debut and was about to be scrapped for the second release that being Blue. I’m glad it made the first record cause it really wouldn’t be the same without it.
@@BDKelso2000 I love the background my self, it's probably a better song . . .but thanks a lot just hits so hard. those two and 'hows it gonna be' have probably received the most play time since i got the cd again recently at a thrift shop. must have bought the self tilted 20+ times over the years. gotta do the 3eb dive every 5 years or so.
@@Michael_Dominic Nice! As far as the debut goes in my collection I have 2 copies on CD both from 97’. My dad’s original copy which he still plays and a copy I got a few years ago for $3. I have two copies on vinyl one of which was autographed by Stephan and Brad a few years ago when my dad’s twin brother met them. I also have the self-titled tab book along with one for Blue which is very inaccurate in some places. I have arrangements to get the original Gold cover sometime soon on vinyl/CD. My dad remembers seeing the gold copy back then and noticing how they changed it to red. Don’t quote me on it, but I remember Kevin saying on Twitter a long time ago that the reason they changed it to red was because they wanted it to stand out more in the stores when it was sold. By the way, pretty random, my dad is exactly 1 day older than Kevin (same year 1970). Very odd coincidence considering he’s been an influence on guitar for me haha.
Appreciate it the feedback man. I’ve listened to the live performance from the electric factory in 98’ so much that I’ve naturally started playing it like that. Cadogan was going really heavy that night. Thanks for watching!
For Lead, I have my gain set at 8’O Clock, tone at 12, reverb at 12, mids at max, treble just past 12, and my presence at 12. Rhythm is pretty much the same! I hope that helps :)
The guitar in this song is brutal. Especially the opening riff
Yeah man. Kevin came up with some cool riffs back then but definitely tricky at times.
Killer tune
One of my favorites!
What a fantastic way to ring it in ..... Thank you.....
Figured it would be a good way to start it off ;)
Love to see people playing the MJ. Love that guitar
Thanks! Longtime fan and player of them.
@@BDKelso2000 makes me want to take mine down off the wall play again!

Está increíble hermano, gracias por hacer este proyecto con 3EB, están muy infravalorados y su primer álbum es increíble 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Gracias!
So good, nice job! 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks Ed! It means a lot. Happy new year!

Keep em coming these are the best covers of these songs and some of the only ones out there, good stuf man

Thanks a lot. You too!
Thanks A Lot for curing my Narcolepsy.
I see what you did there lol. Appreciate you tuning in :)

I'd back off the gain a tad, but that's awesome anyways! Very nice job.

Dat feedback at 4:12! Hell yes.
I have my sustainiac pickup to thank for that ;)
I asked on Reddit when you were posting but I would love you to do Gorgeous. And Self Righteous.
Yeah for sure man, thanks for the follow up! Gorgeous is an amazing track I’ll be getting too hopefully soon. Same with Self-Righteous :)

I don’t do tabs on this channel but lessons I have considered.
