I live in Murray, KY and we will be flying Contour out of Paducah toward the end of the month headed to Fort Lauderdale for a cruise. I'm glad to see good comments about the airline. Thank you for the video.
Great views of the Ohio River and farmlands as you leave Paducah. The legroom is better than many big carriers. Backpacks actually do fit underneath the seat in front of you. I hope Contour can grow and succeed.
E145 pilot for Contour here: Love to see it! That annoying hydraulics sound is exactly what you said! It's the electric pumps kicking on to ensure we still can use nose wheel steering with Engine 1 shut down (among other things).
I’m an airline buff and I love to see new little airlines such as this one come onto the scene! I wish your airline all the best, sir, and I hope to fly you one day! 😊
I just fell in love with this airline! They seem to be bringing the long lost elevated customer service of the glory days of commercial aviation. Class act company! Really enjoyed watching this, thank you💙✈️
As one who began his airline career in the 1970s, I enjoy seeing these videos of the small USA airports that had mainline type service 50 years ago! I remember when CGI had multiple departures on Ozark Airlines, using DC9s & FH-227B equipment. Unfortunately, a lot of these airports don't even have airline service anymore. Nice video.
Contour is a Part 135 carrier and under this contract they are allowed to carry up to 37 passengers, that is why there are seats removed in this ERJ-145.
I have done an overnight trip LAS-PGA ( Page,AZ) on Contour in a 135. About 6 pax each way. Also flew them day trip BNA-TUP (Tupelo, MS) in one if their Jetstreams when they had those. Been to CGI once on Cape Air during a return on a Marion,IL trip back to STL. They combined the MWA and CGI flights so I got the bonus of a new airport to visit. Best part was Cape Air gave us a free RT ticket anywhere they went for the inconvenience. I used mine for Rockland, ME. Nice video and terminal looks same as a few years ago LOL.
The space in the back is actually because Contour is a Part 135 air carrier AND flies Essential Air Service routes, and what that basically means is: The regulations Contour flies under restricts how many seats/how many flights they operate. The number of seats that are allowed on those flights is 30, even though the E145 is a 50 seat jet. So they removed 20 seats and kept the 36” legroom standard for the airline. This is one of the reasons Contour will never put one of their CRJ-200’s in airline service, because half of the airplane would be empty 😂
Our time from wheels down to taxi to the gate at Nashville was longer than the flight. If you don't have something time sensitive like a connecting flight, its nice. My experience would not make me comfortable to depend on no travel hiccups without a 5-6 hour margin. The drive from Cape to Nashville being 4 hours would give you time to give up on them and still have time to make the drive.
I came here to answer some of your questions, but it looks like they’ve already been answered. I was curious about their 140s and 145s as I am a new hire FO and wouldn’t be allowed to fly more than 30 passengers per the regs, they’d also need another flight attendant if more than 30. Nice video! One thing though… Disembark doesn’t have a C 😋
I’m planning on taking contour airlines to crescent city California it’s near the waters so I’m hoping the weather will be nice cuz I’m afraid of turbulence
@@willstrainsplanes yeah it was delivered today. Usually after I get a model, I'll watch a report for it, and you were the only one that had the Contour E145. Btw ironic that this was a Cape flight, as I'm from Missouri.
The extra space in back is for the seats the 145 is supposed to have, Contour is Scheduled Charter, only allowed to have a Max of 3seats ❤ a 145 should have 45 seats thus the number 145, 135 is supposed t have 35, seats, Max is 30 for Contour.
Please explain, if you know, why current CGI-BNA and return flts are timed at 1 hr 15 but yours was 30 minutes or so. Seems to be a significant time discrepancy between what you say and what the airline says.
They come up at about 10:32 look in the right corner of the window. The 145 only has one per wing located closer to the fuselage instead of the typical 2 on most commercial jets.
I live in Murray, KY and we will be flying Contour out of Paducah toward the end of the month headed to Fort Lauderdale for a cruise. I'm glad to see good comments about the airline. Thank you for the video.
I love seeing more people making videos on Contour! Keep it up!
Thanks! I love Contour! Definitely will fly them again
Area local from Paducah, great video. We just started service to Charlotte.

Right now, my best option to fly Contour is Macon to BWI. I live near Atlanta, so that is very doable! 😊

Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed
The annoying sound at 11:20 is the PTU. It basically powers the flight controls. Hope this helps 😊

Such beautiful history!!! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed ;)

Thank you for noting that!!
JSX has the same setup too.
I’m flying contour soon and everyone seems to love it!!
Thank you for posting this! I got an upcoming flight on contour, glad to know they're pretty good

When I saw those space, I thought, why don't you use those space and make each seat more legroom, right?

Thank you! And my mistake I didn’t see the misspelling lol. I’m am glad you enjoyed the video ;)
It’s one flight attendant per 50 passengers.

The Gemini Jets 1/200 model of your first flight just came out
Oh no way! That’s awesome!!

30 seats not 3, Typo...

My flight was 22 minutes from wheels up to landing in Nashville. The rest of the time was spent taxi from runway to gate. Longer than the flight.
This is the first review I’ve seen of the E145! Nice video!
Nice! And thanks
No speed brakes upon landing?

The back space is where the bathroom should be
The bathroom is still there.
Nice, food service.
