It's interesting the way Bonham's high hat is so upfront and really helps define this song. Proof again that Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock band ever !
Great song and album, both have aged quite well. Led Zeppelin, impossible to duplicate their exact sound though many have tried. They are a freaking rush every single time I listen to them, 54 years now and counting. Do Tea For One from the same album, Presence, and wonder at the tone on his guitar from the God of Blues. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
This is a "Wrap Down" rhythm. The one you put on the stereo when the party is winding down and everyone is paired up on the couches and chairs and you don't want the neighbors to call the cops. Great memories!
This song is Robert's growing sarcastic cynicism with the LA cocaine/drug scene and the rock scene in general. You can hear the weariness in his voice. He said it was a dig at someone he knew and cared about and how she was getting deeper and deeper into drugs. It's in the lyrics; "And she said, 'Don't you want it, don't you want cocaine, cocaine, cocaine?'" and later in the song when he sings "On the balance of a crystal, paying through your nose." you can hear a loud snorting sound. The album as a whole is criminally underrated that came at a difficult time for the band so the songs are full of challenging situations and emotions.
@@helenespaulding7562 Hi there! Great to see you too and also hope you had a great Christmas. Yes, I love this song too and was wonderful to see them give us a "new" song at the O2!
Only played live in 2007 at the O2. Great fun to watch and Robert Plant’s voice is much better. In 1975-77, I think he was dealing with his most challenging voice issues.
Hots on for Nowhere is another great tune from this album. Honestly, this album is unlike anything else they did. I really like it, and I like it more as I listen to it.
You're Correct! It is a Great (& Unique) Album by Led Zeppelin - Mandatory to Check Out some of the other songs from this album, you won't be disappointed..🎸🖤
For me, Presence had two “misses” and the rest are amazing. Try Nobody’s Fault But Mine, Tea For One (for a gorgeous slow blues), Achilles Last Stand for Zep doing prog and the three musicians elevating into the stratosphere….Bonzo is a total monster on that track.
Love this song! The O2 2007 version is imo way better-please do that too. Jimmy was an absolute genius on rhythm/lead guitar then you pair him up with JPJ’s genius on bass, Bonham on drums and Robert’s vocals and you get this KILLER song! ♥️
I don't like the rhythm of this song at all, too military, pure hard rock, but uniform to the point of boring; Is the addiction of two members starting to dominate?!? My song skipping started with Physical Graffiti. However, on the album presence Nobody's Fault and especially Tea For One (unfortunately only played live on the Page&Plant tour in 1996) are brilliant. I even like the military, but prog-like Archilles, which also became a live standard. For Your Life was only played live once at the 2007 reunion. So everyone has their own taste in music!!!

The songs...regardless of when made were ALL fabulous! Original Zeppelin song! Watch this live at Celebration Day...only time played live!

That cocaine scene is now FAR more prevalent now than it was in the 70’s…which is insane, when you think about!
@@smith9808didn’t know that. Thought it was more opioids. Interesting.
Howdy there Henrietta! So nice to see you again!
Hope you had a great Christmas! 🤗🤗
LOVE this song……and the O2 live version

JPJ is killing it. As usual! ✌️

Great reaction.....it is not so obvious to many listeners how good this is. This album took me so long to warm up to, now my favorite.
This was the song they opened up with on their very last concert

My no1 Zep album. "Tea for One" is a must listen as well as "Nobody's Fault But Mine" & "Achilles Last Stand" Love your reactions....
In my top 5 led songs.
Presence only cd in my truck for over a year.
Gotta play loud.
Still have my pink 8 -track

Do it do it do it do it do it do anything you wanna🫵
It's all Zeppelin not a remake ..
Dude… when are you doing more Asia…..from there 1st album check out sole survivor or without you 🔥🔥❤️✌🏼
If you listen to the kick drum, he's playing a lot of those beats on the upbeat. It kinda will throw you off. But it's 4/4. But very deceptive.
Military ?

Wow. Enjoy it for what it is. Less dissection.
