I feel like the crossbow is definitely a move forward weapon, not a move backwards weapon. You cut a lane through the crowd and just keeping moving. Added benefit is that you pick up all the xp as well.
exactly. with Hina you should also shoot and then dash toward the direction you shot at. That way your crossbow is charged, you get to the xp faster, you have more room since the enemies did not have the time to close in and your shadow helps to stall the enemies following you from behind

Hina is probably the best to use for getting the pacifist achievement with an all summons focused build. You can do a still dash to summon the clone right on top of you, and with most of the summon perks, the tome, and the synergy, the clone can deal enough damage at a fast enough rate to kill any small enemies before they can touch you. This assumes you also have the other summons softening them up.
Edit: Almost forgot about Hina's talent that allows the clone to attack 3x faster
Yeah. I got this achievement today with her and the grenade launcher weapon, which has the most dmg: 45.
Pro tip: after getting summons, aim for the Magic Lens talent. One of the upgrades makes her shadow much larger :)
Sin pls try to play scarlet with a flamethrower and elemental dmg. She's insane
To be fair all characters become broken one way or another if you know how to build them.
@@yuuhanmicu5737 scarlet just really excels at burn builds and with elemental talents. Her and flamethrower are a perfect synergy
to be fair any of the elemental characters become nuts combined with SMG+full elemental
@@drakhoon personally liked flamethrower more but I like smg with spark!
Seing a run that doesn't go as smooth is exciting as well, feels like you gotta grab strong buffs instead of just more hp and shields and stuff early on.
Can't wait to play myself next week!

I'm currently almost finished beating darkness 15 with everyone and every gun. Shana and Diamond, and Revolver and Crossbow are left.
I use Hina with the Grenade Launcher and go as a more offensive summoner build, ensuring I get the last upgrade to the lens, as it makes the shadows melee attack HUGE, and does your bullet damage, plus all the summon damage modifiers, making it do THOUSANDS of damage to each enemy.
I like these videos, keep on playing this game it's really cool

I did a pretty impressive run with Hina the other day - and by pretty impressive, I mean that if I didn't shoot on reflex at one point, I would actually have managed the Pacifist achievement =(

A neat thing I found when I was trying this same combo, that's unique to Hina and the Xbow, is that you can hold down the charge, then right click to dash, and it releases the arrow where you were, summons the clone, and if you have the boss drop for it, simultaneously reloads your gun so you can immediately start charging again!
Edit: Just remembered, got myself killed by stacking too much move speed on hina, it can MASSIVELY increase your dashes distance covered, but I wasn't expecting that when I took the move speed tome from second boss drop, and flung myself into my own death. Hilarious in hind sight, bummer in the moment.
Eventually things got frantic enough I started to notice that there was actually a cooldown to how often you could dash, which made me try out Hina and the Grenade launcher for maximum clone damage. I plan to try that one again with a summon focus instead of gun focus, because as you guessed, the clone is indeed a summon!
I don't have the runes for it, but I'm curious to see if it benefits from the tier 5 rune for having just one summon.
Of note is that the Crossbow comes standard with only 1 shot per figurative "magazine", so it's always the last shot, meaning stuff like Ice Shard will be activated on every shot. What I do wonder is if upgrades like double shot and fusillade also multiply the ice shards, since technically speaking all shots are your last shot.
Also means ammo increases are counter-intuitive for that case.
I just got this game today thanks to these videos and absolutely love it and Hina is definitely a lot of fun but nothing has impressed me more than Abby with the shotgun lol
Frost is almost useless with the crossbow, you kill everything before they can freeze. Reload speed is critical with it tho also magic dagger is crazy with crossbow

It seems like the crossbow's lack of wave clear makes it a hard gun to win with.

do you think sinvicta will try to get any of the achievements? 1) as far as i know nothing affects the charge up rate of the cross bow? 2) i will say going getting the talents from power shot tree+the aim tree+fusillade tree+ice tree realllly improve how fast the crossbow chews through enemies.

you want synergies? try Nova Drift. very different style that 20MTD and TBOI, but has some crazy synergies, weapons, effects etc. probably the best roguelike I have ever played.
