      This tutorial video must have taken quite a bit of work, well done and thanks buddy! I've had Ableton about 1 months and there are so many features, also I love LoFI and there's so much to all this as a beginner, thanks for showing us all this, really, really helpful! ;D
      I hope you have an amazing year 2023! Blessings

    This video taught me to actually use effects, I have never touched any of the effects and thought I just have bad sounds, but I was very wrong

    • @jaronlopez

      Glad to hear you found the video useful Stewy! Indeed, I find that effects processing can be just as important
      as the initial synth/sample/sound.

    11:23 - I followed your tutorial with Ableton open and practiced along, and man! What I’ve been able to do with this knowledge is extraordinary. Learning both tools and music theory in a single video is amazing. Those melodic variation tricks won me over. It’s like my melodies leveled up by 10! Congrats, man! Much success! 🤘👽

    First time Ableton user and this was easy to follow. There were some things I had to figure out on my own like changing piano roll from 1/16 to 1/8 ect, and for the lead sound combining all the effects. Overall better than most of the free tutorials Ive found on YT

    The echo of the lead melody it a bit much, at least when i do it in Ableton 11. Maybe I did something wrong, but it stays on for a very long time even after I hit stop and it builds up during the song. No matter what, great tutorial! Thank you so much! I finally found an entry point into lofi without someone trying to sell me 10 different plugins I really(don´t) need!

    15:33 This one little nugget of advice - to build melodies based on the top note of the chord - has worked wonders for me. I've been playing instruments forever, attempting to compose for the past 4-5 years, and somehow this never quite clicked with me - my solos and melodies were always so dull, too focused on the key center. It's been a game changer. Thank you so much for all of your videos, they're all incredible. Your presentation style is so welcoming it keeps me inspired to make music 🤘

    This was super informative on many different levels.
    I've had nearly two decades of experience on other DAWs and ended up purchasing Ableton Live because people kept telling me it's amazing. I had no idea that the bundled instruments and effects were so robust!
    Ableton Live is so vastly different from anything I'm used to, I need to sit down and really dig into what it can do.

    • @jaronlopez
      @jaronlopez  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Stetsonator, thanks for checking out the channel! You'll need to set the blank midi track's input channel to Post FX right below the track selection. You can see this pictured at 8:13 - the default setting is usually Post Mixer which is probably what you had it set to. I hope this gets it working!

    • @MrStetsonator
