Thoroughly enjoyed this walkabout plus visit to tram museum. Often watch yr walkabouts in Blackpool as grew up in Stockport in the 50,s and spent many Sat or Sun on Blackpool beach in the summer. A lot has changed but some little gems remain. Good memories. Only been back twice as we moved to Cornwall close to the sea. Next time I do will definitely do the tram shed tour, preferably in daylight so I can see everything.
Buses and trams are of interest to me as well as ghost sightings . A video on Blackpool ghost would be great . Surely the ballroom can tell a tale or two . Great videos enjoyable viewing .
I’ve always loved the Blackpool tramway. It has so much history. Seeing the depot at night when it’s silent, it takes on a whole different atmosphere. That ghost tram with the skull on the front would scare anyone. Seeing the old balloon trams brings back so many memories from when I was kid . I remember a conductor telling me that one of the balloon trams was haunted by the ghost of an old man ,and that they sometimes would see his ghost sitting on the top deck.

Some of the older trams had block wood sand sand braking systems where when the brakes were applied the sand was dispersed onto the wheels and the wooden block brakes in combination with the sand made the tram slow down and stop 😊

Hope Steve doesn't mind me answering for him, but I do know some info regarding your question. I'd suggest contacting Blackpool Transport on 01253 473001 and ask for HR department for any vacancies/ apprenticeships on the bus or tram side. They are always short of drivers, but you can ask for other opportunities too. Their website lists the current vacancies. Train ones are up to Northern Rail in this area and again their website will cover those. Hope this helps. Hope you enjoyed the ghost hunt too. Cheers

Good entertainment I'll give it that, but paranormal? I'd say a very emphatic no. For one thing when you all were using the knocking communication, it's all too easy for someone to knock on a tram wall in response (think about it believers - the responses happened with the lights off meaning it'd be hard to say it's genuine) then the next thing was the 'sensitive' can't remember her name who was recording on her iPhone seeing "orbs" was in fact just seeing dust & it's easy to prove. Using any kind of torch (either on a phone or otherwise) just look in the beam & you'll see dust motes floating around.
I too am very skeptical of anything "paranormal", as I think I fairly well stated last night when I said that my preferred "explanation" of what most people see, is based on falsifiable, repeatable, scientifically based evidence, IE "Stone Tape Theory". However, having been there myself last night on 147 and genuinely expecting to see or hear not very much at all, especially on147 which had absolutely NO history of anything like we witnessed last night up until then, there are a couple of things that maybe need pointing out, relating to your otherwise fair and very valid points. Firstly, regarding the "knocking" . You are absolutely correct, except for two possibly interesting facts. The sounds we heard were of a metallic nature, NOT wood, which is all that 147's body is constructed of and secondly, as you could see from where everyone was sat and who did NOT move during the dark parts of the filmiy, the majority of the sounds eminated specifically from where absolutely no one was sitting, IE. In the centre of the tram, or before Janet and Jamie moved there in the lit footage, at the ends of the tram. So both your hypothesis, whilst fair, just don't hold water on this particular occasion. And also, I too thought of that regarding the "orbs" caught on Janet's phone, which incidentally I'm led to believe is especially set up to record certain energies. But if that was the case and it is "only dust", both Darren's and Steve's cameras are also recording digitally and yet, as we all saw, they caught no such "dust". Now, am I saying that it is absolutely impossible for it to have been faked, or it was just dust, yes, absolutely it could be, but as far as I was concerned and remember I was actually there, I would genuinely put forward that what we ALL experienced last night was at least, to a confirmed skeptic like me, certainly quite interesting and at best, very much worthy of further investigation and study. This place has some SERIOUSLY strange environments and very strong power signatures, which is only to be expected if it's run solely on electricity, so whilst in absolutely NO way am I stating that it IS haunted, what happened last night in front of all of us, was definitely an experience I don't think any of us is going to forget in a hurry. Stay skeptical by all means, I certainly intend to, but I'd suggest to at least also stay somewhat open minded too and then maybe prove us wrong by coming on one of the ghost tours when they start next year? Welcome to the Tramcar Zone!! And perhaps experience the "Silence of the Trams!! Lol.

The knocking sounds did have a kind of metallic ring to them. Also, they weren't firm knocks, but rather dull sounding with reverb.
