I've just realized that one reason I'm hooked on these Anderton's videos is that, in an age when it seems like we're surrounded by lunatics, these guys are nice, and they're sane and polite, and they're relaxed and having fun. It's wonderfully refreshing to see, it calms me down; and it never fails to restores my optimism and good mood. Thanks, guys!

As a confirmed tone snob and valve amp only dude, I have to say, these amps sound unbelievably good. Boss have knocked it out of the park with these things.
+ they are really well priced(Cheap) and light weight and no need to worry about braking/changing tubes!!
Same here! I build tube amps and modelers usually don't impress me but this little amp is astonishing.
I already own the Boss Katana 100 wt amp, and that already does wonders for me! It brought a revival in my motivation and inspiration to keep playing guitar. This rendition does sound amazing and fluid indeed! Cheers for the showcase!

Being a Katana owner, I've watched many Katana demo videos and ain't no one can make that amp as sweet as Pete does. 🤘✌😎

I've got a Mk1 Katana 100 and I love it. I am thinking of buying the head version for live performance instead of my Helix as it's just so easy to find a good tone I like with the Katana.
I wish they added the fx loop to the 50 mk II
yep they should have improved the stuff consumer wanted but instead made a new amp with shit we dont want .. just by the 100 now, the are dirt cheap there your fx loop

I had the mk1 and loved it, bought the mk2 50 and it was great! Loved it so much I returned it and bought the 100w version! Best solid state amp on the market and the foot controller makes it brilliant! Don’t hesitate you won’t find something better for the money

@@skyg0d most people forget they have a $700 to $1000 electronic in their pocket with good microphones. In fact new phones are so precise you can visually tune it within the small range of what most tuners consider "in tune" with a single indicator.
I'm taking my Katana outside and diming it after work. I can't believe how good these things sound at high volume.

I never used the sticker that comes with the Katana but the way it's described here, the GA-FC pedal board seems to work exactly like on a Mark I.

The only thing I was hoping for was an effects loop on the 50, maybe a looper and the ability to use the bigger foot switch on the 50. 0 for 3.

Another way to change the tone is you may want to try putting a backing on the amp which will cause some damping due to the back pressure hitting the back of the speaker. I used the hard fiberboard backing of an old speaker, not completely sealing since there are vent holes in it but it added some buffering. I like certain tones with and without the backing so I made it easy to add or remove.
correction the differences between the 50 and the 100 were not just the 100 being louder the 100 had the better speaker making it sound better, plus it had the loop.

I just bought a Katana 100w 2X12 Monday, now this comes out for the same price. I bought a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 v2, the next week they came out with v3.

The only thing holding me back on the Katana is that you have to plug in the usb wire anytime you want to change something in the app. I wish they would let it connect wirelessly over Bluetooth or WiFi instead.

Why, why, why didn't Boss 1.) Add a floor controller with more banks/presets so you can control your whole set without a PC 2.) Add a LCD window with a single dial so you can save and recall presets and edit every parameter from the top panel - Fender Mustang IV has a brilliant implementation of this! I love, love, love my Katana 50 for it's amazing sound and effects, I hate, hate, hate that I need a PC to use it and only 4 presets. 3.) A bonus would've been Bluetooth controllable via a phone or iPad. I'd pay more for this and it's so obviously needed!

Hello, please advise me. I recently got the Pod Go and found out that I'm no fan of digital sounds. Does the Boss Katana have a similar digital vibe to the sound or does it sound good enough as an analogue amplifier?
Is there a real huge difference in the mkII and the first iteration of the katana 50 to buy the mkII over it?

You can store '4' presets on the Mk1 50w since version 3 update. Surely this is possible on the MkII 50w right away??

Whenever watching Pete, It's so refreshing to watch and hear guitar and gear reviews that aren't 500 mph shredding. I can actually hear what the product can do!
i like both i wanna hear the clean overdrive and the distrotion riffs to see if its flat dynamic nasaly etc just playing single notes doesnt cut it alone for distortion
Bummer that there's still no fx loop in the 50W. As a bedroom player I have no use for a 100W amp, but I still like to use a looper. All those fancy effects are completely useless if the looper has to go into the front. I get they want to sell more of the more expensive one, but it seems a bit arbitrary.
Totally agree, I'd rather have an effects loop and sacrifice the effects.

Agree a big mistake, the only reason I'd switch from my mk1 to mk2 would be the effects loop, now I'm going to see if the 2nd hand mk1 100w come down and switch to that. So no new sale, from me.
you can play the 100 at bedroom volumes easy though, so really you could always just pick up a 100w and use it in 50w or .5w mode.

Nope... I have the MkI and it is an epic amp. Just gets some of the best tones out of my system. True, the MkII is kind-of-sexy and my GAS is triggering, but... I think about flinging with a Dane pedal this XMas. ;)

I just got mine yesterday can't lie it's got me a bit irked but I don't really use effects other than reverb and maybe a pinch of delay so the the upgrades aren't that much better at least for me.
Yep, I just bought one Monday. When this popped up in my recommendations I almost thought it was a joke.
Really wish they put a simple tuner on mk2. That's the only thing that was really missing in my eyes.
justifying 100$ more for fx looper is really disapointing. Pretty sure most of people who bought 100w would have gone for 50w if it isnt for the loop
The much larger magnet in the 100 watt gives it a much richer, cleaner tone.
The "Two knobs in one" is an amazing feature because in the first Katana you couldn't turn ON both the Booster and Modulation effects at once (because of the halfway knob). But now you can!
You basically can with an android app. You also have access to 12 different amp types set many many features. The Fender amp type is already included in the MK I model but you only can access it via app or tone studio on windows or mac

I thought the app was only available for the mk1 Air amp
From what I see in the video you couldn't turn them both on, are you sure this is possible? That would be a decent feature IMO.
