Hey I watched a Michael Douglas movie today. He was a camera man for a journalist / tv reporter. It was about a person at a nuclear plant who had to take on a whistle blower role and a lady keen to do serious investigative reporting instead of fluffy ("news") pieces. This viewing experience gives better insight into why we write reports (and the utility of these) than can be obtained through the education system (where we do learn report formatting etc but may not pick up on significance). Inattentive people may lack understanding of why writing sometimes is done in such a systematic way. I need to watch more movies or have experiential learning. Education may cultivate ignorance. I don't know that time spent in education reflects a good use of that time. It doesn't give a full appreciation of things. Movies and narratives can serve to draw in attention for people who listen and attend well to feelings to an extent. I already got schooled about why we need to pay attention to feelings and experiences at home before I started school. So the bias is in place whether that was in built or fostered.
