I would put my essential calligraphy items in a plastic box with a see-through lid. This box can act as a lightbox. All that I will have to do is turn on the light of my smartphone and keep the phone inside the box. :p
1. Tombow Fude 2. Rhodia dot notebook 3. Marker paper 4. Prussian or sky blue Ecoline brush pen 5. A bag of Reese Cup thins( since we won't have power to keep my ice cream frozen!! And I will miss my little eraser guide tool. I had never seen one, but, OMG, it is so useful.... Even as a small straight edge..... Thanks Becca, see you next week!
I'm a professional calligrapher. :) Here are the things I will take: 1. Handmade soot ink. 2. Cross cut arabic calligraphy pen (steel nib). 3. Cross cut arabic calligraphy pen (reed). 4. Special handmade paper with handmade natural varnish on it. 5. Precision blade/Craft Knife (Kretuar). :)
mmmm. good question!!! For me, some kind of notebook/journal. ATM I make my own inserts for a traveller's notebook, but since they're made of card, string and paper (and need a needle to make them), that's 4 items right there so I'll save items and go with a decent notebook to take with me instead - probably something like an Archer and Olive. Go to pen would be Staedtler pigment liner in black. I'd also take a mechanical pencil with an eraser on the end, and a metal ruler with an inbuilt protractor. For the last item I'm having a really hard time choosing between a brush pen or a travel watercolour kit (the kind with pans of paint). I'd probably take the watercolour kit, but only if its one of those ones that comes with a brush inside it. :D And my last item, which isn't really an art supply so I feel confident in sneaking it in anyway, is a large ziploc plastic bag to put it all in. I know you said 'desert' island but that doesn't mean that a) it doesn't rain or b) never floods and all the art supplies in the world will do you no good if it gets unintentionally wet. :)
a Fudonosuke hard tip brush pen (Pink); a Pentel Touch Brush pen (purple); a Lefranc Bourgeois sketchbook; a mechanical pencil with lots of leads and a rubber!
Tombow Fudenosuke, Le Pen Flex, Pentel Touch Brush Sign Pen, Zebra Funwari,a Clairefountaine Séyès/French Rule notebook (the 8 mm ruling with 2 mm x height works great with a small tip brush pen)
I'd bring: 1. HB pencil 2. black colored pencil for shading 3, Tombow Fudenosuke Double-Sided Black/Gray brush pen 4. smooth-paper sketchbook 5. pencil sharpener (unless I knew there was a good collection of sharp rocks on the island)
1. Black Micron 05 2. A&O watercolor journal 3. Jelly Roll Gold Metallic 4. watercolor round brush 04 5. Prima Watercolor Confections: the classics Totally went and bought a laser level the other day from a post I saw of yours.
Hmmmm this is so hard!!! 🤯 1) Fudenosuke brush pen 2) Rhodia graph paper 3) Laser level 4) Washi tape 5) iPad mini with Apple Pencil (hopefully I can count that as 1!) Lol
That is such a hard question to answer!! I would bring : watercolor paper, my aqua elite paint brush in a size 4, two color shifting hand made watercolor, and one holographic handmade watercolor.
My must have list: 1. Rhodia Notepad (dot, grid, plain - any of these). 2. Tombow Fudenosuke (if this was unavailable Pentel Touch Brush Pen) 3. Sakura Pigma Micron (probably 03 size but any will do) 4. Uniball Signo Broad White Gel Rollerball Pen. 5. Pencil (Pentel Automatic Mechanical Pencil - it has a rubber in the top) If the rubber was separate, then this would be 6 things but this is my list, and I do what I want! 😀
1) Daniel smith watercolor pan set. 2) assorted round paintbrushes 3) fudenosuke soft tip pen 4) micron 0.5 pen 5) mixed media stillman and birn art journal
I'd bring my metal finetec palette with a mix of black, coloured and metallic pans, a straight nib holder, a wee tin of Leo 30 nibs, a rhodia pad and a size 6 brush. I'll be able to paint with that and it will also load my water colours onto the pen nibs.
My five are: 1. A watercolour compact set, 2. Water brush , 3. watercolour paper, 4. Tombow fudenosuke small brush pens(multicoloured and a black ), 5. Smooth journal. ☺️❤️
Rolling ruler Pencil Eraser Fineliner Brush pen (I also like the Tombow Fudenosuke) And if I could have a sixth: Sakura Calligrapher I started with lettering, but I’m getting into drawing-hence the need for pencil and eraser.
I have to take at least six items when traveling and they are: Mechanical Pencil White eraser Good paper/ sketch book Watercolor pencils Water brush Black pigma micron marker
My top 3 were the same as yours. We packed up to move and I had to decide what supplies to keep out. I wish I had kept out my laser!! I added colored brush pens (love color) and 6” ruler & pencils.
Obviously I pick a nervous breakdown. Don't make me economise my art supplies lol 🤪🤪🤪 oh..I have to answer seriously. Ok. 1. Notebook..prob Rhodia dotted. 2. A Pilot parallel pen, not sure which one yet as I've just got the 2 new sizes 3. My pencil case with my fav brush pens & water brushes(is that cheating???) 4. Water colour pad 5. Water colour palette
I'd take a Tombow Fudenosuke (either tip, don't have a preference), Rhodia grid notebook, a size 01 Tombow MONO drawing pen or a Micron pen in the same size or smaller (don't really care which), a sand eraser (which I need to get), and an eraser shield (like Becca showed in one of her videos) (which I also need to get.
