It's funny and yet inspiring to see that any group of somewhat skilled beings can kill the final bosses of confessions. It means, that the virtue is not in being strong, but in being brave enough to dare the beast, that is feared by everyone else.
It is very interesting when it comes to tanking the 3rd boss. Guarding the one who has been over focused lets you take less damage even if you barely have any tokens. Take notes !
I think this is the trick. if you put 0 tokens on the man at arms and instead stack them all on a dodge tank like the grave robber then that's probably the "best" setup
@@lm5495 The boss does 16 damage + 25% PER mark so using defender on whomever has the marks would make it deal very little damage. the danger is that the boss could debuff/stun the MAA and then your marked target needs to survive without the guard.
I like how Wayne June is rooting for the eyeball when you go against it with 4 antiquarians. All the lines he uses to berate the party for screwing up he uses when the eye misses. When the eye hits he gives it one of his encouraging lines.
I remember beating this boss with only my Graverobber left and dodging the Gaze like 4 times on deaths door using the Dodge+ from upgraded Absinth until the boss finally succumbed to blight. I think that Graverobber went on to beat the fourth boss too, but died in Act 5. Venomdrop is pretty potent
Does this also mean that modders could use this to make like a antiquarian hero class? Like all the code is there for them to be playable, they just need to modify the game so they work outside of combat, add some barks, the such
The hardest assets to make are battle animations (and they are already present), all remaining require some code editing. It's not an easy task, but possible. With Workshop support, the Antiquarian might be the first one available to add.
Those icons were made for a testing purposes, I guess. I recognize them being in DD1. Being player controllable is another "testing" feature and surprisingly, may apply to any ememy, even bosses. I'm considering to try more enemy compositions in a future to see how they work.
@@single-player Ah yes, for testing. Are these icons available on other enemies as well? I did not see them in your other videos but you weren't controlling them either.
@@daftwhat You can set a team control to "INPUT" or "RANDOM". Previous fights were random, but for this one, random will make the fight stay at phase 1.
The interesting thing about Antiquarian is that you do not kill her, it does not say deathblow to her she just sort of disappears so maybe in the future she is gonna be a rare recruitable character???
No she has those little animations that play when selecting abilities to use, like getting her knife out when hovering over nervous stab. I don't think regular enemies get that.
I tried adding her to roster, but she has much limited assets, basically only ones needed for a battle. I couldn't make her travel in a coach. You can try it, the files I used are the ones that appear in a Actors folder when you fight Antiquarian in a Pillager fight.
You can force her to appear in any fight by editing "battle_configuration_data_export" and entering her id in the upcoming fight mash: "shared_pillager_antiquarian"
I'll make a guide when RedHook releases full mod support with a Workshop working. Modding in a current state is not recommended unless you making funny fight videos like me.
have you posted any tips or guides for modding character abilities, ive been trying to replace the MaA's kit with something akin to Renaults abilities in the first game but whenever I try and turn one of the abilities into a heal it just breaks it. Ive had no issues with modifying everything else but heals (and stress heals) just arent working for me
When RedHook releases full mod support with a Workshop working, I'll make a guide on modding, explaining basics at least. But currently changes made in a data files may cause problems and being not revertable without Workshop will "break" the game.
Let’s imagine this scenario then. Someone is guarding you, they push you away from the incoming attack and dodge it themselves with incredible dexterity !
bro its so interesting that the antiquarian apparently can take buffs and trinkets?? And also has visible skills almost like heroes? Seems like using her as a hero was an idea but was scrapped during development :O E: Bro I wrote this during the into, didnt realize you would actually play them yourself. Thats fucking insane dude Q.Q
I'm guessing that all enemies and heroes were designed for future mod support, which makes these results possible. Visible skills are possible for any other enemies too (for testing purposes by dev team, I guess), by setting team control from "random" to "Input". Most enemies have 1-2 skill to use, so there were no point to control them manually in my previous 3 videos.
@@single-player bro I had no idea you could manually control them but chose not to. That's inSANE! The potential this has for modding etc is absolutely wild!!
Its not uncommon for an npc to be “play”-able people in the comments should really keep wearing their tin foil hats. Sometime developers wants to see how a npc interact realistically to the environment and to the player and its much faster to control the manually than to wait an AI to make a random choice.
So the 4 antiquarian videos have returned.

Yeah, I don't know from where to start with image and animation editing. Are they Unity assets or something else - still a question to me.

man , she's way better than dd1. i hoped that she will be a playable hero..
shes way better because its part of a rare elite fight, basically the meme "the boss when you fight him vs the boss when he joins your team"
that's what she meant to be without the additional money collecting. In butcher's circus she has the same powerful abilities.

In case with this boss, random kills would cause the boss stay at phase 1 all the time. There will be some random fights in the future (in 50% cases).
