Apparently they don't have classes on how to weld cast iron successfully. It's a lot more involved than what they did here.

I think it’s steel not cast iron, but a stupid and dangerous repair to make on a high load part. Probably will be back next week 😂

7:31 no bevel ground into the break, just start throwing the rod to it. No pause in the weld to let the metal cool down and take shape, just start throwing the rod to it.
No cleaning of parts... nothing in this video other than bolting it to the hub was done right.
