Disappointed this trial wasn’t televised. As a nurse this is so disturbing. I’m glad he was found guilty. Those drugs he used are common for a anesthesiologist.

This is so disturbing, that's why they did not televised and also it might of been a short trial.

The lawsuit here will be massive. The hospital kept this guy on staff AFTER they knew he had a criminal record and previous discipline against his license.

Why would anyone tamper with an IV bag? He must be seriously wackadoodle. Now, he can inject himself in prison.

Lots of comments are asking why he did this. During the trial it was revealed that he had been disciplined by his licensing body for substandard care; during a surgery he failed to monitor that a patient was having cardiovascular trouble. I don't recall the details but I think this patient was seriously harmed due to his neglect.
Because of this, he was reprimanded and what he could do as an anaesthesiologist was limited. Being the fucking psychopath he is, he was so incensed and so sure he did nothing wrong, that he decided to "show up" other doctors by causing patients to die during routine surgery by other doctors.
He literally murdered and endangered people because his ego was so fragile he could not stand knowing he made a mistake. He had to justify it to himself somehow that others were just as neglectful as him and had patients die/harmed in their care.

I have no idea why he did that! What had driven him to do the horrible thing to those inocent patients!?

Texas sure has gotten soft on crime. Why is death penalty off table? I could understand a plea bargain taking that option off table, but this jerk went to trial!

Absolutely shocking. This is an element in medical practice that fills patients with terror. Huge ego and low self-esteem can be a deadly combination.

as an OR/ICU - RN & NP; this guy is guilty. No reason why he should even be handling the bags/mixing the medications like that. He was mixing epinephrine, lidocaine and potassium in the bags.
