Born Chaim Reuben Weintrop in Whitechapel, London on October 14th 1896, was one of the greatest Music Hall and Variety entertainers of the 20th century. Best known as a double act with Chesney Allen and being a member of the much loved Crazy Gang.
Most people assume the Crazy Gang shows were produced during WWII as a moral boaster, but the first one was at the Palladium in 1931 and the last at the Victoria Palace in 1960.
