The throttle switch in the throttle box. If the throttle cable was to break this switch will stop the motor from running. Can be fixed by simply bending the contacts apart (or was it together?). Hope this was helpful!
I had one that wouldn't start (all was either replaced or checked out fine.) So, I sprayed some Contact Cleaner inside the cylinder (just a little bit), and bam it cranked right up and was never a problem after that. Don't ask me why. I checked literally that could be checked. And this is what got it going. Believe it or not.
This is a new text My four wheeler is having the same promblem? I got good spark Good compression good fuel but my air box is geting full of oil a mixed gas. I'm mixing 40:1. And it wont start it cranks over brand new battery but won't start even with Any starting fluid or nothing
This seems to be common. Ive got a 2000 with the same issues. Supposedly has a fresh rebuild. Will crank all day. No start on starting fluid. Hook up booster pack and it fires right up and runs. New battery. New plug. New filter. Im leaning toward weak spark. Stator was next on the list. Ill have to check that engine grounding situation
I have the same problem, I check the spark and it has, I cover the carburetor with my hand and it gets me wet of gas. I already check the compression and it has. It doesn't start with the fluid either. Does anyone knows what's wrong with it?
#1 check fuel #2 check spark #3 check if lower crank is flooded. Remove crank drain screw. Or turn off fuel and stand on tail bar. #4 Check compression #5 Sell on facebook marketplace
@@michaelpurl622 i dont have the machine anymore go underneath and take the skid plate off you should see a drain plug on the bottom of the motor theres 2 one on the pull start and one on the motor itself
@@HorsepowerHouse my trail boss had to get all new crank seals but It kept blowing them put after I put new ones in so I think the crank bering where bad
hey guys im having the EXACT same problem...cannot even get it to start with starting fluid... Ive ordered a new CDI box and coil for it...hopefully it helps...any other suggestions would help...ill let ya know when i get the parts if it helps any...thanks...Nick
Nicholas Barnhill make sure u got spark and if so then check compression I delt with the same problem and first it was the rectifier and then it had spark then I checked compression and for I had 60 pounds so I just rebuilt the top end and runs great same thing with me it would fire on anything lol but it's nice to know now what to check and look for
I have one with the same issue, good spark, fuel, 115psi compression, stator and coil tested in spec, new cdi, woodruff key is good, won't even fire on starting fluid, go out the next day and it will start and run fine, then won't start again for a month, it makes no sense. I have also unplugged the cdi kill wire to bypass all safety switches and it makes no difference.
so has anyone figured out the problem to this issue im curious mines doing the same thing but i see no on has posted updates on it.... i need help please
Hi I just wanted to give my experience with this mine did the same thing for the longest time after a fresh rebuild couldn't figure out for about a year and I'm finally had a bright idea hook a jumper cable to the frame and then the engine and the thing fired right up I was a bad ground from the frame to the engine hope this helps someone

I just got one and I need to redo my carburetor.clean it out and try
Mine was doing the same thing but I drained the gas from the crank case and it started up and ran perfect
Riggs reed .where is the drain plug..? In gonna try that with mine
where you getting gas in the lower end? or how did u drain the crank case?

Did u ever figure it out ?
Did u ever figure this out
Crank seals
Reeds
Clen the carb and the reeds and make sure the vacuum line is hooked up to the reeds or they won't work properly
No reads on these old 250 polaris atv's or pulse line ....and gravity feed unfortunately

Just because a vehicle has "some" spark doesn't mean it is "enough" spark. Has to be good strong spark.
U ever find out what it was?
I had this same problem drain the gas out of the base i did an it fired righ up
What base?
@@heribertohernandez5109 base of the motor
Theres a drain plug on the bottom of the motor incase gas and stuff gets in the bottom end

Chek the crank seals
Crank seals is a common one for any bike that won't start but everything else checks out fine.

Tony Navarrete did you figure out what it was ? Mine just started doing it today
Mines cranking Just wont fire up.
Any
Ideas
Why is no one mentioning crank seals....
Mine is doing the same today. How did you fix it? How do you adjust the timing? Thanks.
So what did you do to fix the problem?
No Spark
Mine is doing the same thing. Got compression, spark, gas....still won't hit even with starting fluid. Ever find out what the deal was?
Tim Strader it's prolly a bad spark plug mine would do the same until I put new one in it and I have problems with the one on the handle

Could be your ground, or weak battery
I have the same problem has anyone figured it out yet

I had the same issue. All I did was rebuild the carb and made sure the float height was correct and it worked just fine
mine is doing the same

So, you hardwired a shielded copper wire from the “-“ terminal to the frame and it started fine?
