Over 95% of land in Boracay is owned by the gov't and proof possession, not ownership, is identified by holding a tax declaration...means u pay the property taxes. This does not stop the govt from taking the land if it so pleases as we have witnessed on the island during the rehabilitation. Only buy a house or condo on titled land for peace of mind with your investment. For condos check out Newcoast development st the golf course. Try to get the choriburger or longgaburger at night. Its basically a bbq chorizo/sausage in a burger bun. Very famous mindnight snack for the local tourists. But i dont know if they are still doing it after the boracay relaunch.

Back in 2010 we didn't appreciate the place due to overcrowding, jumbled establishments, and waterfront restaurants directing their dirty water to the swim area (I quickly noticed that) hence algae growth. Now with strict implementation of envrironmental, noise rules, and 30m easement from the shore Boracay is revived worthy of a world class tourist destination..Local govt should limit headcount and enforcers should strictly fine those caught trashing the place.

Btw our house is near to that "Virgin Mary" statue at the rock formation... Closure of Boracay was one of the fun thing i swim alone in the beach, other people also were swimming 500 meters away from me at the time of closure, ..and only residents of Boracay can swim during the closure. . So fun to be alone and solo in the beach.. I also experienced watching cinema at Boracay city mall and i was alone watching a movie "The nun" that was 11 am.. So fun experienced!! I had many videos of it.. Only uploaded one hehe only the demolition of Boracay heheh nothing special on my video

@Megan Dejero I'm not sure but some countries doesn't allow dual citizenship, so, it depends on the foreigner's country of origin.
