see him live 2006 in biloxi miss front row all comped! what a great singer stage pressence total pro! shook his hand at end ty sir tom got me laid after concert up in my suite!
No lo he escuchado cantar esta versión de She's a lady, considerando que este video es del 2001 cuando tenía 61, hoy tiene 78 no sé cómo estará su voz actualmente. Un abrazo.
Tom Jones is the best in singing these two songs " she's a lady, venus" if he sings Mustang Sally that'll be great.and I first heard him singing I thought he was a black guy as very few white ppl sang like him at that time I guess.
Whoever is responsible for these ultra short cuts - I would fire them. The viewr can't focus on ANYTHING. Cuts of half a second are just crap. Three seconds would be something where a viewer could actually enjoy something. Experts ... duh.
Not so fast, Mar...Your criticism is shade that is way off the money. I don't mean to offend you, but did you ever think to consider that the tempo the song is sung here is different than that in the original? Tom's voice is not shaky, it's how the vibrato in his voice is sounding at the much faster pace that the song is done here. The tempo of the original audio recording is appreciably slower. You may prefer the original audio and that's fine. But remember that few live performances "match" the studio recordings. Artists rarely do a song the same way every time, especially at a live concert and from one venue to another. Arrangements are different, bands and instruments that are used change, backup singers vary, and acoustics differ, as well as the sound engineering. And, yes, natural changes usually come with a maturing voice but, in Tom's case, the observable changes that have taken place are not any sort of deterioration. He has tried to care for his voice over the years as well as to keep singing and performing, exercise which is important for staying in good voice. You know what they say... "If you don't use it, you can lose itl." Conversely, if you use it too much, you can wear it out. I don't think Tom's voice is worn out or performing poorly at all in this performance of "She's A Lady," which I believe was at Cardiff in 2001 when Tom was 61. His performance here is exceptional, and the vast crowd loved it. You may not have liked one song. I don't know if you listened to any of the other songs from that concert, or, if you did, maybe you just would rather only listen to recordings Tom did when he was much younger. But Tom is not a static artist, refusing to consign himself to the oldies-but-goodies circuit. He always adds in some old favorites to his concerts, but the line-up of music includes so much more than his early hits. He's explored a world of music and continues to explore it and challenge himself. He purposely puts himself out there, trying new things and collaborating with great songwriters, producers, and up-and-coming artists. Not only is it so satisfying to him personally, but he wants to share more with his audiences, fresh things as well as the favorite songs they've loved and want to hear again. Twenty years after this 2001 concert the man continues to perform with great skill and power... at age 81! His voice has grown deeper and richer over the years, which has changed his range a bit, but it works beautifully for him and for his audience. It's made his more bluesy songs even more gorgeous. The genres that feature those kind of tones and texture have been a love of Tom's since his early days, and he's enjoying doing a lot more songs with that flavor. That decision apparently has worked to his advantage, especially with his greater exposure as a coach on The Voice UK, and new audiences are discovering and enjoying him, following his career, and buying his recordings. There's certainly proof in the pudding... as Tom's latest album came out this spring, and shot like lightning to No.1 on the UK album charts. Can we agree that we have the best of both worlds? ...That of Tom now and Tom through the decades, with recordings and videos varied enough to please anyone. While you enjoy the songs from the era that pleases you most, I hope you will be able to consider being a bit more discerning in your analysis of his later work before you comment.
@@sometimeslyrical I have been a fan since I was 13 years old and as a teenager i saved money to by his albums and went to his concerts. I have listened to him hundreds of times live on stage. I had the good fortune of working as a casino auditor both Ceasar's Palace and MGM Grand and saw him live 100s of times during my time in Vegas. Believe me I know the difference; however age and throat polyps surgery and age changes everything. It's not an insult it's just physicality of life! Don't be offended. I'm still a fan. He still sounds better than 70% of the artists today! 😉

His voice was shaky here; sadly age makes a difference. But the original recording from the 60's was phenomenal!
