You are so right Nicole. Double siding makes it sturdier and professionaly finished. I have been double siding mine but with acrylic glue. It has worked for me like a charm. But now that I saw your video I will try the heat n bond. Thank you!
I found one of the large rolls of Heat n Bond in my sewing stash, and I have no idea what my plans for it were when I bought it many years ago. I tried it with faux leather, and it totally made life easier. I also use HTV on the back of the heavier weight faux leather. It gives a nice finish to the often unattractive faux leather backside without adding extra bulk.
Your video was so helpful. Have you ever created earrings using fabric by using the same method? I was wondering how it would turn out. I have plenty fabric styles to use. I was just wondering about the edges. Would they fray if I used fabric?
Yesss finally found just what i needed! This video is everything I needed! Do you have favorite places to buy your faux leather? Shopping online makes it hard so lots of trial and error over here!
I know your question is old, but I figured I’d tell you what my favorite faux leather is just in case you haven’t found one you like yet. I buy David Angie faux leather on Amazon. It is a good quality, and it’s been the easiest to cut on my Cameo 4 using the autoblade and a strong grip mat. Hope this helps. 😁
@@kelseymathis4258 use a new mat and use painters tape to tape down all edges. Also depending on the fabric you may need to run it through twice but normally I can get through with the deep cut. Try the knife blade too! It’s another favorite of mine!
@@nicolegriessel Thank you. Which mat do you recommend? I did a double cut and it didn't work. I don't have a knife blade... :( I have been trying to only buy things when I have the money and buy for what I want to work on and I got the deep cut blade thinking it would be the best for this... I am using Hobby Lobby Faux leather and it has a funny texture on the top. I tried on the same piece different setting and nothing cut all the way through.
Hi, Thank you for taking your time showing this great video. I was wondering when you cut for earrings you see the sides are white or not the color to match. Do you leave those like that or you paint the edges or sides of the earrings? Thank you again Nicole. Donna
Can't you just do one piece with heat n bond, then cut your earrings from one heat n bond piece and one without, then match them up? Might be easier to cut, not as thick.
I have been pondering on how to get a good finish on double sided faux leather, you have smashed it with this excellent tutorial. Many thanks xx
I use iron on vinyl to finish the back, then they are not so thick.
What is iron on vinyl?
Smart!!!!

Hands down best tutorial yet🙌🏽🙌🏽
Thank you for sharing. Best Double sided faux leather earring video. Now I have a way to use my Sizzix Big Shot die cuts.
Thank you! This is a way better way to do it! ❤️😀
I like to use glitter or holographic HTV. But this is a great idea for the glitter faux leather sheets! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you!! I’ve really only done faux leather & cork but you could try some fabric and see how it goes!
This is AWESOME!!! Thank you!!
When creating the double sided leather piece, what do you use for your settings in cutting it? What about the blade?
Deep cut blade on garment leather at more pressure :)

@@nicolegriessel could you link the Etsy shop for the faux leather you used in this video? It is GORGEOUS!
@@robiny1823 hi! I bought in back in 2020 so I’m not sure! I’m sorry!! If I find it I’ll post the link! ♥️
Hello nice video where do you order your design sheets thanks
Hi! I usually order from Etsy :)
Thank you. Very helpful
Thank you for sharing this
Maybe this is a dumb question….what blade and setting do you use to cut once it’s together? Mine isn’t cutting all the way through
Not a dumb question! Usually deep cut blade on garment leather more pressure. Sometimes you may need to run it through twice.
So easy! Thanks for the video! Where do you find the Svg for the earring cards to display the earrings?
Hi!
I buy the cards on Amazon and I had stamp made with my logo on it ♥️
Thank you so much ❤️
Good day what setting do you use on the cricuit once you have the double sided leather? Was that leather or faux leather.
Faux leather cut with deep cut blade on garment leather setting more pressure
Does this make it harder to cut with a cricut?
Yes it does. I use the deep cut blade on garment leather setting at more pressure :)
@@nicolegriessel I tried this and it’s still not cutting all the way through… any other pointers?

What size ez press do you have?
Thank you for this!
Kristen Hampshire I believe it is the 12 x 12 🖤😀
What setting do you use to cut your double sided faux leather?
Garment leather on more pressure deep cut blade
How does it cut in your cricut with two layers? What blade do you use?
Use the black deep cut blade :) Depending on the fabric you may have to run in through twice but normally once is enough :)
Thank you for this. Which size ez press do you have
Hi! The largest one which I think is the 12x12! :)
what setting for your circuit or silhouette
Deep blade on more pressure garment leather
How much do you charge for your earrings
Anywhere from $10 - $15
What Cricut setting, mat & blade do you use with this double sided piece?
I use the deep cut blade on garment leather setting at more pressure :)
wont thismake it double the thickness to cut with the machine
Yes I use the deep cut blade and I cut on the garment leather setting :) Sometimes I cut on more pressure too depending on the fabric
@@nicolegriessel i dont see no garment settings

Yes I do that with glitter material because it’s way too thick to cut through. :)
