The “only gay in the village’ is indeed Matt Lucas 😉 and the other chap is David Walliams - both of Little Britain fame…. Was there “naughty innuendo” in that convo Mr Squirrel? I didn’t notice anything untoward! “Mind of an innocent…” 😉😂 EJ knew nothing of the script, hence his giggles, the only “rehearsed” line was about EJ being the only gay in HIS village (which is a very large countrified estate!! ) EJ is now married to David Furnish and they have two sons….
Matt Lucas (only gay in the village/fat busters lady) and David Walliams play a few different charachters in the show. Walliams is a Judge on Britain's Got Talent too.

Matt Lucas (here in one of his shiny latex outfits) played this character in the show. Not sure if the character had a name but he was always referred to by himself as "The only gay in the village" and, as you might know from his accent, was meant to be Welsh. At the start of the sketch with EJ, he says he's doing the interview for the Llandewei Breffi Gazette and this actually is a small village in Ceredigion, West Wales (population 500), though it's spelled slightly different, as Llanddewi Breffi. It's famous for Saint David (the patron saint of Wales, whose national day it is on 1st March - yay, holiday!) giving a sermon in their 7th century church.
Tony, the character was called Daffyd Thomas.

Little Britain was huge in the UK, some great characters performed by Matt Lucas (shown here as the only gay in the village) & David Walliams (shown here as the camp room service). They pushed the boundaries for many of their characters, check out Matt Lucas as 'Bubbles'!! 😆 The Elton John move - 'Rocketman' (2019) is a great movie about Elton's life! 👍🇬🇧❤🇺🇸

The land of the free would have restricted Little Britain or had it cancelled first episode.
If you like innuendo, you might consider reacting to some, 'Carry On', sketches, (there more scenes), in the many movies made.

Even the British audience didn't apparently understand the references to cottages. Cottaging is a rather old-fashioned British term for gay men, shall we say, misbehaving with strangers in public places.
When this came out David Furnish was his boyfriend.has been his husband for a while now.they had known each other since 93.they have 4 sons.he did marry a woman 84-88 the older he got the more open he was.
Elton John is a great sport with stuff like this. Even more so when you realise he didn't get paid for this and it was all for charity.

As you enjoyed this, I'd recommend some other Comic Relief/Sports Relief skits starting with Ali G's interview with Posh and Becks (aka Victoria Beckham of The Spice Girls and her footballer husband David Beckham), Ricky Gervais's 'visit to Africa' and the three James Corden 'Smithy' sketches (Smithy meets the England football team, Smithy at Sports Personality of the Year and Smithy to the Rescue). You probably won't recognise a lot of the British sports stars and other celebrities in the Smithy routines, but their will be a a fair few familiar faces...
Jotted them down.

Mr. Squirrel, I posted this in response to your replies to my earlier comment, but for some reason TH-cam appears to have stopped displaying any of my responses to other people's comments (if anyone knows why and what I can do about it I'd be most grateful because TH-cam couldn't care less) so I'll post it separately too.
You might also want to check out Peter Kay's charity songs/videos. He's done them for Comic Relief and Children in Need. '(Is This The Way To) Amarillo' and '(I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles' feature a variety of UK celebrities including a few you'll be familiar with from your recent reactions (Ronnie Corbett, Michael Parkinson from the Cupid Stunt interview, Matt Lucas and David Walliams from Little Britain for example). Also Peter Kay's Animated All Star Band is a wonderful celebration of kids TV characters. As a father of young children it would be interesting to see how many you recognise from your side of the pond and how many never made it beyond UK shores. Perhaps you could even watch it with your younger children. I'm sure they'd enjoy it and will spot at least some familiar faces.
