    Try submerging the comp into water with limeshine. It will soften the built up and then you can scrub it off.

      check out this video. I got some Lime shine, After I shoot some more, I'll try that again for a longer setting and see what will do to the comp. th-cam.com/video/BB4JOsQ0QWA/w-d-xo.html

    Let me guess, FMJ bullets? The hot gasses under pressure melt the exposed lead at the base of the bullet and deposit in the comp. Easiest way to clean it is to shoot Hollow Points, after the FMJ's. Hope this helps some people.

    • @chris3M2C
      @chris3M2C 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@justint3476 not sure I understand your question, but let me try an explain. hollow points don't have lead exposed at the bottom because the jacket covers the bottom. No lead to melt and fill the comp.
      I have recently learned that Kano Kroil penetrant will clean the lead out of a comp. I use qtips, and we the inside of the comp and the next time I shoot it the lead kinda blows out. I'm using coated blue bullets.
      test it on your finish, my gun is DLC.

    Very nice build. I'm picking my x5 Legion up today. After seeing this, I kinda wish I built it myself. All in, how much $ would you say you have into her?

      I don't remember exactly. Around $1,300 does not include magazines because I'm using magazines from other P320s.

    Nice in depth video, I really like the step by step and the look of your Sig. Do you remember if you got the compact or the sub-compact PMM compensator and barrel? It has that perfect fit flush look to it, and I’m about to order one soon, I just wanted to be sure because I’ve seen some where it sticks off the end by a half inch or so and isn’t right. I’m getting the compact slide, I just wonder if the right PMM option to go with is compact or sub compact, would hate to have to return it if it isn’t right. The brown comp I can see getting dirty and stained quickly, but that chipping and damage is concerning to say the least. Thanks anyways, nice piece.

      @AllenTam  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much for watching. Did you see my Custom Sig P320 X-Compact built #224?
      To get the comp to fix flush, you must purchase PMM P320 Ultra JTTC and Barrel Combo. And I recommend buying that PMM JTTC "Muschi" Mounting Block too. Too bad they don't include that in the Combo set and make you pay extra.
      You see some sticks off the end because people are not using the PMM barrel. Sig and other aftermarket threaded barrels are made for a suppressor. The barrel is already more prolonged, and the thread is also longer. PMM barrel thread is shorter and made specifically for PMM comp, and no other company is making threaded barrels for PMM that I know of.
      My Combo set is SubCompact(X-Compact), 3.6". The next size up Compact is 3.9". For your compact slide, is it X-Compact or Compact? Know that for sure before you order. Have fun with your build. And thanks again for watching.

    • @py1te
      @py1te ปีที่แล้ว

      I went with the PMM single port Gen 2 JTTC comp/barrel combo for my compact slide with 3.9” barrel. Sits flush on the full size frame. Haven’t shot it yet and can’t believe the damage done to yours with 115gr ball. If you don’t mind me asking, assume you’ve contacted PMM and wondering of their response?

    • @AllenTam
      @AllenTam  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@py1te Well, I posted the link of my video to one of their Facebook posts. I told them to look at it; this is my first comp ever, this couldn't be normal wear and tear, could it? A day or two later, the response was something like, " It looks normal; nothing wrong." and "they don't do customer inquiries on Facebook, please contact customer service." I'm missing a lot of material off the port wall, this is normal wear and tear? I was busy with other projects, so I'm like fuck it. I put it aside and think I'll go back to address my concern with their customer service later. And I have not touch it since then. Maybe I will take it out and shoot it and see if any chuck of metal will fly off 😆

    Nice video. I had the same scenario. I never really looked at the compensator closely when I bought it and like you looking at it after 300/400 rounds I thought the gun may have been used. I was able to take the compensator off and when I did I also found a light grey, what looked like some kind of anti seize material hardened on the barrel where the comp was threaded. I was told by Sig that it was carbon build up! I said to Sig customer service guy, how do you get light grey carbon build up on threads that are not exposed. In any event I haven't had time to call someone else at Sig. That light grey stuff was a bear to get off the threads and tip of barrel. I was surprised after all the detail you put into cleaning you didn't clean the compensator. I was able to get the compensator off and and after lot of time and cursing and soaking I did get 99% of the carbon off. If this is what I have to look forward to every time I put a few hundred rounds through I will not be shooting this gun often and maybe put fewer rounds and clean :(

    • @AllenTam
      @AllenTam  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did try to get the shit out of the comp, but none of my brass brushes can take them out. I've shot five hundred rounds after, and more buildup and more port wall surface got chipped/blasted away. That comp is on there with factory-included red Loctite, it's not designed to come off for cleaning.

    • @AllenTam
      @AllenTam  ปีที่แล้ว

      I pull another six hundred rounds through it. It's baked into there for good. Besides, the comp is threaded on the barrel with red loctite; it's not coming off for any cleaning or anything.

    • @AllenTam
      @AllenTam  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I were replacing the comp, which I would like to do, I would replace it with an AC comp. I like AC much better. But of course, I would have to buy a new barrel for AC comp, too, and that's why I haven't done it yet.

    Old school Barbasol shaving cream works well on comps too, just put a little shot in the comp and let it foam up, swab or brush it out, beaks up the carbon deposits.

  • @danielhady3021

    Aluminum comps get erosion to them. Just part of it. You will also want to occasionally take off the comp and clean up the barrel crown. I had an internal baffle strike from built up carbon and lead. The comp did get warrantied without issue.

    • @AllenTam
      @AllenTam  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That comp is on there for good, I don't want to try taking it off occasionally at all. If I take it off it's because I'm replacing it with a Armory Craft compensators which I am planning to. Thank you for watching.

    New gun owner here. Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction of some gun cleaning kits or for this model gun is it best to piece what I would need together?

    • @AllenTam
      @AllenTam  ปีที่แล้ว

      The only cleaning kit I have is for the 5.56 rifles, and I don't use that anymore because half the stuff in the kit I don't use, and I still have to buy other things. Every cleaning tool I have now is individually purchased based on needs. I, too, started with watching TH-camrs cleaning their guns. And quickly developed my habit and routine. Look at what I use and get that and see if that fits your cleaning method. I got almost every tool from Cabela's.
