I live in Morioka. I was delighted to hear that Morioka was recently selected as one of the 52 places to visit in 2023 by The New York Times. For foreigners who come to Morioka for sightseeing, we recommend the cherry blossom season (mid-April to May) and the Sansa Odori Festival (August 1st to 4th).
Loved this one, nice to see a place I've ever heard of,it's so pretty! Your giggle with the ice cream was just as cute 😊 Thank you ninja-san! Here's to the next video ⛩️
I’m going back to visit Japan on the cherry blossom spring . Start from Osaka / Kyoto then travel to Kanazawa, Niigata then to the top Aomori / Morioka and move back down to Sendai , last stop is Tokyo before flying back to Melbourne . The trip will be 5 weeks
Morioka is a city I had heard of but had never visited. This video in a mere eight minutes convinced me that I will need spend some time to explore. Sake ice cream alone would make it a destination not to be missed. I consumed some of that brewery's products in past so it will be on my must attend list. My only question is will saying Ninja Monkey sent me get me welcomed or kicked out? Great video.
I hope saying Ninja Monkey sent you will give you a warm welcome haha.. Wow you have consumed sake from that brewery? whoa!! I can't wait to hear about your experience when you make it.
I love this city I walked everywhere in Morioka I stayed 3 days on my way to Hokkaido .I walked around many temples for a day. I like Morioka my second visit last time on way back from Sapporo .I got lost as usual going to explore but I found Koban box and a nice policeman to walk me almost to the temple will go there again Also nice shops at the station.
I've got a friend who live in Morioka so I've been a couple of times, it's a nice city, although I'm not sure I'd particularly recommend it if you don't know anyone there.
Thanks for this wonderful and insightful video! Could you let us know what time of year you were visiting Morioka? I am assuming that it was last year before October, as this is when Japan opened up its travel. But may I know specifically? My partner and I are planning a trip in June/July to Japan and everyone is warning us not to go because of the weather during summer. If you have any advice for this, I would be so grateful for you to share it! Thanks in advance!
hmmm,... my top choice would be Nokogiriyama in Chiba Prefecture and the two major shrines of Ise Jingu in Mie Prefecture ... but it seems foreign tourists don't know about these things! (^_^)
Another great video, will definately be adding Morioka to my list of visits in the future.
Thanks! .. I think I will be returning too!
Sake soft serve FTW! 😁 Morioka looks like a great place to visit!

As a solo traveller I felt that it was great to get around on foot and slow down your pace in comparison with big cities elsewhere
Super video😉
Thanks so much! Morioka was truly wonderful

Morioka is quite different from many cities you can visit.
agree! I really liked my stay
Maybe you can show me around next time!
Got it 👍☺️

冬は寒いし 凍るので来ない方が良いと思います
他の季節に来てくださいね
Thanks for the heads up! hehe!
I appreciate your sacrifice of trying the sake just for us
it was a difficult sacrifice that led to a bit of a wobbly walk but I'm happy to take one for the team! hahaha AMAZING EMOJI hahahaha
The audio for your voice sounds a little high pitched compared to your live streams. Not an issue, just pointing it out.Great video BTW bro!
Different Microphone system back then
