I was quite a bit skeptical about the design when the car was first introduced, but I have to admit that after seeing one in person a few days ago I loved it. It actually looks very very good , especially in black.

@@brandonczw because learn some history before asking stupid questions. S500 has ALWAYS been a V8, not a fucking V6, V6 is for S350. S500 is a V8. now the fuckers changed it, this is the worst S class in history inside and out.

@@idsfsdidjdjfg9185 i'm not fucking stupid. i've owned multiple mercedes for the past 10 years and i know them inside out, i know all about their naming scheme. C43 used to be a 4.3 V8, 600 was for 6.0 V12s and now it's a V8 in the GLS 600 & etc. The numbers don't indicate displacement anymore, they are merely just to distinguish between higher and lower models. Many carmakers are doing this, but it seems to be a particularly big deal for the S-Class.

These last 5 years were like the best design, thiz makes it look so much cheaper, inside and outside.

They could’ve commissioned Samsun to do a custom size of the new tab s7 for the s class. It’s pretty disappointing MB didn’t do that considering Samsung no doubt wouldn’t have an issue with doing that.

I'm not sold on the interior. Obviously the quality is outstanding, but the physical design is a bit disjointed and doesn't really work well together.

Also ich finde die deutschen autos um Welten besser als Japaner da die deutschen viel schöner sind und mehr für ihr Geld bieten mehr Komfort besser Interieur Qualität. Ein japaner ist besser geworden keine Frage aber immer noch nicht so gut wie die deutschen. Mir ist das Interieur bei den Japanern komisch alt backen. (Meine Meinung!!!)

@@oinkoink2843 I meant in terms of design from the general body lines and other small design aspects make it akin to the C/E class. Otherwise, the wheelbase is clear indication it’s an S class.

This car doesn't seem as opulent as an S-Class should and technology wise there's no major breakthrough from the W222 except for excessive screens and over the top ambient lighting that could induce seizures in some people

If you think about it the V8 is a bit too much considering you can legaly use it to the max on the autobahn (or a track which i think nobody will use it on besides nurbugring maybe) so the 6 cylinder is enough power for most of the world
We‘ll see what the costumer experience will be after 1-2 years of ownership. Thats when quality starts to show off. But i‘m psyched for the new 7 series to match this one, it‘s a new era of cars.

In my opinion the older w222 looked better and the new one has just too many screens and no buttons. Even the speedometer doesn't have its own chamber and instead is a screen popping out into the face. Looks like the sets of a sci fi film. They're selling us electronic gadgets in the name of engineering and we keep buying it.
Would be cool if I could display 1980s or least 1990 gauge graphics.
