omg I'm so glad I found ur video! Ur so cute! I'm from Michigan and I got accepted into LIM and I plan on attending my only question is do you love it there? Any way I could contact you outside of TH-cam it's fine if you don't but yeah. I'm just so nervous to be transitioning from a small town in Michigan to NYC. Did u have a lot of money saved up before coming?

Hey Lexi. I’m a senior now and LIM has been my dream school for YEARS and now that the time has come to apply like I don’t know where to start really. With the price of the school plus the dorms and picking up and moving to a completely different state it’s a little overwhelming. How was your experience with cost and everything?

The cost of the school is pretty expensive so what I have to do is pay back student loans after I get out of college. I love LIM so much and I'm so glad that I decided to go here! Moving to a completely different state was overwhelming at first. I'm originally from Georgia so going to college in New York was really far and new for me. It may seem overwhelming and very new at first but just remember that everyone is in the same boat as you and is starting a new chapter in their life in a new place. Moving to New York for college was one of the best decisions I've ever made :)

i love this video so much! i am from new orleans and am thinking about going to LIM. i am just extremely scared to live on my own especially since it's expensive living in nyc. was it hard transitioning from life home to life in the city? also was it easy making new friends and people in nyc? :))

      Hey girl!
I totally understand how you’re feeling about it because I was the same way. Coming from Georgia and coming from living in such a small town, when I first thought about moving to NYC it seemed very overwhelming. Although I had a roommate in the dorms during my first year at LIM, I was still kind of nervous when I first got there because I didn’t really know anybody else. But most of the nerves that I was feeling was just me kind of getting inside my own head being worried about it. When I actually got up to New York, meeting people and making friends was way easier then I thought it would be. The school hosted a lot of different kinds of events at the school buildings and also in the dorms as well where you could come and meet a lot of different other students and that’s what I did a lot. Everyone is very friendly. You just have to remind yourself that everyone else there is also in the same boat as you and also are just trying to make friends because they don’t know anyone either. Remembering that made me feel a little bit more at ease when moving there.
Transitioning from kind of living in the middle of nowhere to a big city personally was very different for me, but also a little bit familiar just because I have an older sister that used to go to college up there and when I was little I would go up to NYC a lot so I was a little bit familiar with it in a way. But don’t get me wrong, visiting nyc is much different than actually living there haha. Moving to the city will feel very different and will definitely be a change but don’t worry or stress about it. You’ll get used to it and there are always people around to help you out too. I hope I answered your question lol sorry my response was very long. I know that moving to a new place and a new environment seems very scary, but for me, going to New York City was one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made. I have made so many long-term really good friends from moving there and I can’t imagine not being there and going to school there. :)

Thanks! I love LIM so much! Once I found out about the school back when I was applying and looking at other colleges, I knew it was the school for me and I'm so glad I decided to go there. If you have any questions just let me know and I can make a separate video about it :)
