One of the biggest aspects to this episode that is never mentioned is how the very end was executed. In every single episode, The Chosen title pops up with the string instrument theme. But in this episode, it’s only silence and crickets in the background. I feel it reflects the exhaustion of Jesus and allows the audience to take a breath after such a surreal scene. It’s absolutely breathtaking!
Yeah. Mary helping Him was very heartwarming, but sad at the same time. Her washing His hands, feet, head. A heartbreaking foreshadowing for me, but also a genius scene, from a writing perspective.
Wow. After rewatching this again with you, I cried and it made my heart hurt towards the end. It hit home with me. Its like when you look at the disciples and they see Jesus, stop their bickering and Mary helps Jesus get ready for bed, it’s just so beautiful watch. The disciples finally get it: “He’s the reason we’re here. We didn’t ask to follow with Him, He asked us. All of this arguing, talking about our past that Jesus saved us from doesn’t matter. All that matters is Him and what we can do for Him.”
Amen. Thank you for helping me understand this more. It made me apply it to my daily life. The number of times Í've complained to God about my problems and life struggles and unforgiveness is embarrassing. this has helped me to remove my attention and energy on these pointless things and focus on what God is calling me to do i.e. pray for others, love them and love God. Just like Jesus . May God be with you for all those that read this.
I 100% agree! Like I’m actually so excited to for the crucifixion episode only because I can’t wait to say how Jonathan will portray that I think it’s going to me extremely touching and powerful ❤️ if we’re still on earth when that season comes (it’s gonna be season 6) then I think it’s totally gonna be worth waiting for 🙏🏽
Dallas did a great job, made only one error. Yes, this is not the scripture, I know. Even so, accuracy is very important. “Mary when did you know?” The answer: “I don’t know“ this is the mistake. Luke chapter 1. She knew because the angel told her. Otherwise, excellent episode.
@@GMLFire I don't think she meant she didn't know Who he was, I think she was saying, I don't know if I should get into it, as late as it is. There is a pause, but the sentence didn't end there.
Dallas writes the 3rd episode of both seasons-the children in season one and this one in season 2. Remember that every time Jesus healed someone, energy went out of Him. He sacrificed Himself each and every day He walked the dusty roads of Palestine, not just at the cross. I believe this will probably be the most powerful scene in the whole season and not a word spoken to the disciples. So powerful.
@@AkuaB right!?!? neither have I, I feel so enlightened after watching each episode! god bless Dallas and the entire production. I love your reaction vids btw ❤️ stay blessed
I thought when Little James mentioned the Samaritans last part of the Episode. He was mentioning that the Samaritans did not need a miracle to believe in him, but the others did.
@@69savage76 Yes but if you remember what happened in episode one of this season, Jesus himself tells Big james and John that the residents of samaria belived in him without any miracles
That’s completely true 😊 Samaritans did believe without healing but I’m sure there is a section of scripture in the Bible that talks about peoples’ belief only because of healing and in this scene, little James is saying that the people lining up wouldn’t believe/ come to Jesus without receiving first - there’s actually biblical reference to support this e.g. the 10 men that were healed of leprosy and only one came back to him - also more specifically, I also found an example of believing from healing from the Gospel of John Chapter 4 (John 4:48) Thanks for your comments! 😄 ..
That's what I though he was saying too. That in the Samaritan town they just needed the message. I like how The Chosen portrays the miracles as always having a point, revealing a truth about God, and not just cheap tricks, because that's how I feel reading the bible. Yes in the bible, it's amazing Jesus can break the laws of physics and matter, but it's only to show he has power and authority to redeem us.
The act of Jesus showing up in that difficult moment that time of trouble tell us that He always present in times of trouble. He will be with us when we go through the waters💧. He doesn't leave us or forsake us!❤️🙏🕊. This scene is so beautiful and emotional 😢 .
Just shows that when in the midsts of an argument or being angry about someone's past we tend to forget about Jesus Christ. This scene definitely brought tears to my eyes😭😭😭
@@AkuaB yes, and it's funny because I have content on my TH-cam channel concerning the deception in our history, and the 1000 year reign of christ, but everytime I just take a second to just let Jesus in..😢 I break down and go back to the main point😔 Jesus Christ is the center of it all😭🙏☝️
You know I don't know if it's intentional or not. But when Mary washes Jesus's feet, hands and head, it's almost a foreshadow of the main injuries of the Crucifixion: Crown of Thorns, and the nails through the hands and feet. I feel like it was intentional, especially when Mary says "you have blood on your hands."
Since Matthew’s character is being portrayed as being on the Spectrum, he appears not to understand or at least recognize the underlying reasons for the anger of the others. We see that Mary Magdalene is running side car there changing the subject to Jesus’ mother trying to head off what finally transpires. (Keep in mind that Jesus knows this is all going on and their bickering angrily just added to His exhaustion as He is still out there healing those who have come to Him for help.
Akua B, The Chosen is must see television for me, but your reactions have become must see as well. I love watching someone with such strong faith react to intense moments like Jesus appearing at the end.
Aww thank you! I think it just goes to show the work put into the talent and production which has then been meticulously planned and prepared 🙌🏾 what a blessing 😄 ..
Like everyone.....destroyed by this episode. Actually think these conversations must have happened at that time. Not necessarily with these people....but....perhaps.
@@AkuaB ....kind of think Christians ✝️ have always done this. It's fulfilling a human need (maybe 👀 😌). The old story about how the English flag came about (often appropriated by white supremacists) actually made me laugh and cry at the same time!!! (will tell if requested).
I discovered your channel in searching for more and more The Chosen anything. Your reaction was accurate. I sat there sobbing for 15 minutes after watching Jesus. Lord forgive us!
This episode made me really dislike Simon, he gets way too much leeway when it comes to how he treats Matthew, if he blew up like that at anyone else he would be shut down right away.
Yes, I felt like that too, but then it made me realise that they probably were in highly charged situations like this at times - the closer you are in relationship - the more intense your arguments and discourse can be, the disciples - as we know from reading the word, we’re very close and spent so much time together. Coming from such different backgrounds and lifestyles, I can only imagine the initial friction and prejudice the disciples may have had towards each other, without remembering that all of us are sinners in need of a saviour - the Messiah - Jesus Christ.
At this point in the story he's still very an immature disciple. I have a family member with OCD and is probably on the Autism spectrum, who's behavior bothered and affected me, only I kept it in until I exploded at him. Like Simon here, not one of my greatest moments. But I'm learning patience and acceptance and our relationship is better for it.
Really beautiful to watch your reaction to the moment when Jesus walks by. It's clear you got exactly what I was trying to do.

yes.. that was intense... the bickering.. then Jesus passing by them.. and Mother Mary helping Him... speechless with tears flowing...
I’m still in shock of how hard hitting that scene was 😞 ..
She got to be a mom again. Watching this I begin the understand why Catholics venerate her to some extent.

If that is how well Jonathan Roumie acts when Jesus is exhausted, the scenes from Gethsemane onwards are gonna be something special.
