When Mary said, "He doesn't need me anymore", and then at the end, when Jesus says to her, "What would I do without you"....got to me so much. (His last act of "healing" for the day?)

@@emilytuffnell3593 Everyone around the fire was arguing while Jesus was out there exhausting himself healing others. When Jesus walks by, he doesn't complain. He doesn't bellyache. He doesn't whine. He just says goodnight... His mother thinking that he doesn't need his "Eema" anymore. Then she goes to comfort Him.
All their arguing was so trvial in the face of what Jesus was doing. And he did it selflessly. This scene just put a lot of things into perspective for me. About the human condition and about the passion of Jesus.

Interesting fact from Dallas Jenkins:. This scene was filmed continuously to capture the setting sun. 15 unbroken minutes. Unheard of, apparently, in filmmaking

    • @jacobherrera8735
      @jacobherrera8735 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

I wouldn’t say unheard of, but definitely rare and difficult. And actually the setting sun was not intended. They had set up about 4 different attempts to get this shot, the last one being the setting sun. They were giving themselves one or two practice runs and one or two final attempts and then a setting sun attempt. All the previous shots had failed either due to steadicam failure or actors forgetting lines. They had went through all their attempts and they had yet to get the shot. They got to the setting sun attempt and Dallas left to pray, when he got back, the shot and everything went perfect and they got the shot. Really amazing example of Gods favor on the show. But yes, quite rare to have a true oner (one shot) usually they’re secretly cut up.
Edit: Actually, the length is what makes it unheard of really, usually true one shots are a few minutes max, but 15 minutes is quite ridiculous

  • @jazshas
    @jazshas ปีที่แล้ว +18

I'm telling you, that last scene was so touching.
Some people don't like the Chosen because they can't get past some variations in the storyline; but there are so many moments in this series that just reveals the humanity of Christ that so many are in denial of. He was all human and all God. He came to walk in this flesh so he could be that faithful high priest to make intercession for us, between man and God. He walked in this flesh to understand what we experience and go through.

I cried almost every episode but this one make me cry the most.
Being a Christian is not a badge that’s earned, that much is clear. it really is accepting the gift of salvation. We are all students, no one has learned or studied enough to earn it. It simply can’t be done. When You are redeemed, that’s the end of it! That’s the beauty of what Christ did. “Not by works lest any man should boast.” I grew up in a Christian home and went to a Christian school k-12, that doesn’t make me any better than anyone else. We are all equally fallen and equally redeemed through Christ.

There’s a certain purity I see in non-Christians who are searching for Jesus, that a lot of seasoned Christians can lose as they fall into more legalistic mindsets and forget what finding His beautiful, unconditional love is like. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL summarizing of what you got out of this episode!!! It's one of my favorites of SEASON 2. It totally reminds me of how "we" as people are when we focus more on our self and other people's downfalls and flaws rather than CHRIST and what HE has done and CAN DO in our lives. I am so glad Dallas chimed in on your recap at the end, because what he said, and how he appreciated you speaking from your heart is what I would have told you if I had caught your live. You voiced some of the EXACT SAME things when I thought about it after viewing it the first time. It totally left me speechless that night and in silence all day the following day, due to it's impact on my heart and spirit!!! May CHRIST continue to grow you on your journey of getting to know HIM more and while sharing relationship with HIM:)

(BTW I grew up in a christian home. I’ve called myself christian my whole life until Jesus found me, called me and ask me to follow Him. And from that moment on, I don’t know why but I couldn’t see myself as a “christian” anymore. I couldn’t call myself a “christian” anymore. I couldn’t identify myself to this label anymore. So I completely understand what you mean by “non-christian”. I support you. I, too, consider myself more as a student who desires to learn from and to be like my Teacher. Really love when you emphasize the words “follow” and “take up the cross”. You are so spirit-filled brother. The world, especially the so-called christian world, needs more people like you.)

Catching this after the livestream. I get what you're saying about the title Christian. I struggle with that too. Sadly too many " christians" have given that title a bad name. I much prefer to think of myself as a follower of Jesus. Dont think you have to know everything before becoming a follower of Jesus. It's a learning process that will last throughout eternity. The Holy Spirit reveals all things in His time when we are ready to receive it.

Can totally resonate with what you are saying about "living" it. I am a cradle Catholic. Called myself Catholic my whole life. Fell away for a time (stopped going to Mass and fell into the world view), came back to it fully 12 years ago when I realized I was calling myself Catholic but I didn't know it - never really learned it or understood it. I realized all the things I thought was "okay" because the world said it was okay was wrong. I have been "learning" my faith ever since and I will probably be continuing to learn until the day I die. I am finally trying to "live" and follow Jesus for real. My brothers and friends think I've lost my mind. None of them can understand it, but thankfully my husband has followed me on my journey and truly come back to his Catholic faith. Praying my adult children turn more toward Jesus. There is a peace in not following the world view any more - but there's also sadness when I see so many I love who are so far from God. Praying everyday and hoping for opportunities to plant seeds where I can. Trying to have my eyes more open to see who I can help whenever I can - but I still fail many times. Thank you Lord for being so merciful that I can mess up often and you still love me and take me back. I just went through a battle with breast cancer in 2020 and Jesus was with me the whole way - he gave me such strength that even if I had not been cured, I know I would have been okay because I am finally trying to be right with Him and he knows I am trying - stumbling, but trying. A Priest once said to me at a retreat "God expects progress, not perfection" and that was the turning point for me because the Devil was always in my head saying I wasn't good enough, so why bother trying. Progress I can do, perfection, well, that's another story. God Bless you Leonardo on your Journey - you are closer and closer to our Lord and on your way I know it.

You're absolutely right Brother Leonardo, about picking up our crosses everyday and Following Him, I'm still learning more and more about Jesus every single day!✝️❤
I hope that you don't mind me telling you this but, I'm a Christian and I still feel like I struggle because, I just honestly want to keep Following Him Into Enternal Life/Heaven. ✝️❤
Brother Leonardo, He Wants Me To Tell You- "I Love You Very Much".
Jesus Christ Loves You So Much Brother Leonardo, He Will Never Leave You, Or Forsake You And Your Precious Family!✝️❤
I appreciate you being open and allowing Him to Transform You In A Mighty Way!✝️❤
At the end of this beautiful/BLESSED episode we really see the Real Humanity of what Jesus might have encountered when He Was Healing So Many Of His Precious Children, and How Spent/So Exhausted He Was, Because He Was Serving Others!✝️❤
I can't wait to hear/see your reaction for episode 4 of The Chosen hopefully on Monday, but if not on Monday then most likely on Tuesday!✝️❤
Also, I really enjoyed seeing how the end of this episode really touched your heart and you let your emotions flow, because I believe that was His BLESSED Spirit Working/Moving Through You Brother Leonardo!✝️❤
So until next time/week I love you so very much, Brother in Christ!!!!✝️❤😘

I have watched all of your reactions of season one of The Chosen and I just loved it the beautiful spirit you bring and deep insight I have been touched the same way by these episodes I dont know how many times I have watched them but it had been alot.
Anyway I came across you after watching many Chosen interviews and I just love them and hearing the deep impact the show had had on so many and the same with you. You hit the nail on the head with every episode and I find myself delving deeper into the meaning so when you did this one it just blew me away ! Your beautiful words about how the Savior never quits and does what he was born to do be cause he could just hit my heart and soul and when you said do we do all we can with our ability and again hit me to the soul thank you for these videos and your heart and deep insight into Christ.

I felt this as a mom. You raise them to become independent but once they do, your heart misses them so much. Our children need us growing up, but I don't think they realize that once they are grown we also need them. Not that I need them to take care of me, but that relationship because they are my heart.

Thank you for your openness. I think that for centuries we have lost sight of the real good news of the Kingdom of Heaven. Seeing this show helps us to actually see the disciples as the humans that they were, and for me it helps me really identify with them. Seeing how Jesus called them with ALL THEIR ISSUES and He doesn’t fix their issues, they must work thru their issues. Meaning that we have issues but Jesus calls us regardless of those issues, but we must be willing to work thru our issues. I love ❤️ how authentic you are, thank you.

Notice also that Jesus calls us BEFORE we become 'cleaned up'. Before we've figured out all we're 'supposed' to do. Before we've got all the questions answered and changed our ways. Before we've realized the cost. And He continues to call even after we've committed to believe in Him. Always communicating and living with us in our mess as we grow in Him and towards Him. You always do such great work. Glad to watch you!

Simon did NOT justify himself he says he REPENTED...and as they say Simon was NOT wrong..Matthew DID wrong he betrayed he cheated he stole he made their lives worse, he didn't apologize, he still is not seeing he was wrong..you will have to rewatch it a few times and remember Shahar is Israelian, did this not explain and reveal their history in those few lines, he laid bare all of it...and then the contrast the lesson, to SERVE as He served and what THAT cost, they do not know it yet but they ALL learned that lesson, read up on how they were martyred (I know John was not, just imagine seeing ALL of those closer than brothers to you be martyred...and to be left behind alone..) Also read 1st and 2nd Peter and see how Simon/Peter changed...

He actually made their lives easier, Matthew had been granting them gratis on their taxes for years and they never paid it back and that's why it got so high by the events of the series. If Matthew really did make their lives harder, he could have just taken their house and/or boat right off the bat to square the debt and could have at any moment he wanted to. He did not MAKE Simon and Andrew do anything, they made their own choices and committed their own sins, something the both of them seem to be in denial about as Simon gets all defensive when his own sinful behavior is pointed out to him by John and Andrew in a later episode denies his own sinful nature entirely when called out by Simon himself.

Simon thinks Matthew doesn't know what it's like to suffer but everyone suffers. One person's suffering might not look the same as someone else's, but if we all put our egos aside and realize that we've all been there, we can treat each other with more compassion. I've known a lot of grief in my life, lost people I loved dearly and started losing them pretty early on. No child should go through that, but in this world bones will still break, hearts will still break. We need to learn to be there for each other instead of causing each other more pain.

Leonardo… you continue put your darts in the Triple 20, when people are focused on the bullseye [50points].
‘Fine, you play the way you want. I want to play to win. Yes, the bullseye is the center and smaller, but that’s not the point! Triple 20 is more valuable.’
Erika, thank you for your work on Air Traffic Control. And thank you for sharing your journey as well.

I understood Simon. Tax collectors also took their share of profit from what they collected and Matthew obviously got very rich from it. Simon could have lost everything including his life if the Romans chose because he couldn't pay his "taxes". Matthew needs to own up to what he chose to do, putting others in terrible situations, and it had to come out sometime among them. Yes they are in a new situation with the Lord, but, their humanity will still come out. Peter needs to see Matthew in a new way but that comes in time. I appreciate the truth of humanity here.

Dear Lord, thank You for bringing people who need loving support to this community and giving us all the opportunity to serve You.
Lord, I pray for Kalah’s grandma. You know the pain of seeing treasured family in pain and lost and I know that You will be surrounding Kalah’s and their family at this very moment. I pray that Kalah’s grandma feels your love and peace flowing into her along with the strength and courage to face such a debilitating disease.
We love You Lord and we are so thankful that You brought Kalah here in their time of need! I pray in Your name Lord Jesus, Amen.

I love that every time I see movies, and read the word, I realize how much Jesus went through...WITHOUT COMPLAINT....and I am humbled AGAIN that I know Him. I need to remember to start being thankful for what I do have. GOD is so patient and kind with us who are His and those who have yet to give in to that drawing near to Him feeling. He will pursue us to the ends of the earth.

I’m sure it made them all realize how small their problems are. He lived with us but not like us. I thank you Lord for all your blessings. Thank you for opening my eyes, heart and mind
