Fiesta Time in Cagayan de Oro - Gaston Park Garden Show
August is here, and that means the annual Fiesta in Cagayan de Oro City has begun! Among the many festivities, the much-anticipated Garden Show at Gaston Park, right next to the cathedral, kicks off early.
We visit the event in its early days, when many exhibitors are still setting up. However, the vibrant energy of the fiesta is already palpable, especially around the street food vendors who are already in full swing. Watch as fresh snacks like Proven and fried bananas are prepared right before your eyes. Across the way, stalls brimming with local delicacies and specialties invite you to indulge in the flavors of the region. Taho and ice cream vendors delight children and adults alike, while jewelry and balloon sellers add to the festive atmosphere, trying to catch the attention of every passerby.
To cap off the day, we capture a memorable photo taken by one of the park photographers in front of a painted backdrop-a cherished keepsake, especially popular among newly-in-love couples.
