I’m GJL on the score list #1. I had fun watching this video and working with Sprout to port this. That redemption mode is pretty neat too. I remember re-rendering all the fish for the cabinet. It was a great project. I used to have the big one, it was gigantic.
Also those side panel fish tanks were a compromise, we wanted to make it look like fish were swimming inside the cabinet around all the electronics. We had to settle. If you look at the Ultracade attract mode you can see the original cabinet render in the ad.
Very cool GJL :) I thought it was a neat little game! I had a minor problem with it where the controls didn't work when I got it, basically the battery died and reset the bios, and there was a setting for the parallel port that needed to be changed to get the controls to work, after that it came up and was still doing it's thing. The fish tanks were a nice little touch :) I really enjoyed playing it, thank you for giving the world another great little game to entertain us :)
This was literally my favorite arcade game ever when I was a kid. When my local family fun center took it out, I was absolutely crushed. I've never been suicidal, but that was probably the closest I ever got.
@@LyonsArcade Even the International Arcade Museum doesn't seem to know how many were sold. It reminds me of some of the one-off custom fish tanks that I've seen. One of them strapped working fish tanks to the sides and head unit of a working pinball machine. Another one was built inside an actual arcade cabinet; the picture tube had burned out, the artwork was missing, and it was a JAMMA game. They took the circuit boards (which were in working order) out of the machine and sold them to a collector. They painted custom artwork on the sides, and replaced the CRT with a working fish tank, with all the pumps and filters in the base. This game would've eaten a lot of quarters in places like Chuck E Cheese's...
@@LyonsArcade yeah... They have that original hyperspin hardwear in it also with that half case and weird power pack. They have a habit of going bad aswell. I'm pretty sure I've seen faux fish tanks like this at dentist waiting rooms or restaurants back in the early 2000's. Still, though, this is easily one of the Top 10 most unique arcade cabinets in existence (at least outside of homemade beercades and the like)
@@LyonsArcade it was then utracade had to start whoring themselves out because they spent Soo much money on cabs and such they were losing money. That's why later even dedicated utracade cabs stopped having full art like they were kits or the larger machines had cut outs for the 19 and the art wouldn't mach the cab size
@@raypeila Actually the reason ultracade was shut down was not because it was losing money but because the games on the ultracade machine were not officially licensed even though they said they were. So basically ultracade was selling illegal multicades
Smaller games.....I was in the big W box today and saw they are bringing back miniature size arcade games? Mrs Pac man. Few others. I did not know if I should laugh or cry!
Yesterday, I was on a whim in Searching Feeding Frenzy and I read through Wikipedia and it turns out that this Game Platform is Also Available for the Arcade Version. More and more curious "?", and Finally I tried to search on TH-cam and managed to find this Video😅😁 All My life I didn't know that Feeding Frenzy is also available for other Platforms (X-Box, X-Box 360, Macintosh, Arcade) besides PC. Because First Time I Know this Game on PC Version😅😅🙏🙏🙏. This Game is One of My Favorite Old School Game 2000s, I Play this when I was in Elementary School in 2000s
Hmm? Maybe i should put a fish-tank in my EM as a backglass-animation! Naa! Do to the elecrical current it would be "fishy". But an electrical eel maybe?
Unfortunately feeding frenzy is not available on any of those. Feeding frenzy 2 is on steam but not the first one. Since this arcade game runs on PC hardware it will be hard to emulate in MAME but not impossible. However since the game is not very well known it will probably be years before it is emulated
@@jayden6538 the game hasn't even been dumped and preserved online and there are probably not many cabinets left in the world.. not much hope in ever emulating it I'm afraid
I know this is an old thread but I just picked up this exact cab. Guy selling it claimed they only made 250 of them. Crazy to see how you add water to the tanks inside all the electrical. In the process of getting this thing running to 100 percent. I watched this entire video otw to pick it up.
Very cool, it's a fun game. We actually had several people interested in it after we sold it, I wouldn't be surprised about the 250 made thing. That's probably correct, I'm in the business and have only seen one.
My side tanks both have leaks so I’m in the process of changing them out to little artificial (non water)fish domes. Weirdly enough, the sizing for the holes is perfect and might be a little safer with all those electronics back there. Hopefully will be cooler too. Thanks for the video.
Hi Joe, i got a tip for you this time (i'm more a computer guy) the hard-reset is making me cringe Inside..... What does the power button on the computer in the cabinet itself do? if it has one?..... if it nicely shuts down and powers off... follow the buttons connections back to the motherboard usually its 2 of the tiny black molex connectors (1pin) it runs a small current that detects if you have pressed the button.... slap that button next to the power button and your done :-) If you cant find it but can find te manual of the motherboard somwhere the 2 pins are usually indicated by.... you guessed it... power button :P
Final verdict.....it's a 1 "Oh Snap" game on the Ron scale!🤣 I can see 10yr olds or younger really liking this one. Did ya have to wear knee pads or sit in a chair to play it? 😂🤣😅 Thanks for makin' it brutha! 👍

I would have incorporated the fish tank into the marquee area instead of the sides of the cabinet.
That would look nice...
The barracuda needs to be accompanied by the guitar riff.
