Late-season moose hunting is not for the faint of heart. Short days, long nights, bone-chilling cold, and snowy hills make an October hunt for Yukon-Alaska Moose one of the less desirable hunts to endure. This hunt is also one of Greg's favorites and one he wouldn't miss.
Join Greg and his good friend Ryan as they do whatever they can to access the post-rut hills, despite thigh-deep snow and the early onset of northern winter, in search of a good bull moose.

It's amazing how good clothing can take the edge and the danger out of the situation. In inadequate clothing, things could get real and VERY uncomfortable.

What angle & How fast was the wind going there. What did you have to hold or dial for wind competition?
Hey buddy, if I recall he wasn't further than 300, so I didn't compensate too much there for the wind or the angle. The rangefinder compensates for the angle, but at that distance, the vitals on a moose are still very large. The tripod was indespencible for dealing with the high brush.

17 shots a hunter fired at one bull moose...my father heard all ans counted the shots...he found the hunter standing 25 ft from the moose... My dad walked up to the bull and killed it with his 22 lr
That can certainly happen! It's sad when it does and we do all we can to avoid it, but strange things happen in the mountains.
