3:33 The chorus lines in Malayalam language is like an elegant side track which keeps the balance of the whole composition by giving a contrast. Gireesh Puthenchery the well poetic lyricist kept a glimpse to the wide ocean of touching, nostalgic lines he spread before leaving little soon from us. Obviously MG Sreekumar did well along with the mesmerizing lead singers!
There are foreigners who put great effort and sing the tough Malayalam parts perfectly for the love of music, and on another side there are a few Indians who would like to walk out of a Rahman concert coz he sang Tamil songs too.
Hats off to all those who sang that malayalam part beautifully. Being a malayali, I know malayalam is one of the toughest language to learn and right pronounciation is alltogether another level. So Take a bow, guys. You did it beautifully.
Refreshing to see so many people of differing cultures coming together to perform an Indian song. Music is indeed the one thing that brings people together. Beautiful performance
The magical moment 💥👍❤5:34 .... the way she took the song..is really out of the world 👌....That's the power of Indian classical and karnatic music 🎼....go ahead guys ✌.....Proud to say that we all from the land rich in cultural diversity ....INDIA 🇯
Fantastic !! really liked the energy of the singers. Even the Malayalam chorus was also done with perfect pronunciation. (which is not an easy task for even Indians). The musical instruments are just great. Berklee...! your knowledge on music and music teaching is unparalleled
This is my favorite song by the Berklee Indian Ensemble. I love both the live performance and the studio version. The vocalist singing the "Jiya Jale" line is phenomenal. I also love the accompanying ensemble and their obvious passion for the music. The section in Malayalam is also amazing. The composition and the performance are both incredible. Hats off to the performers and of course A. R. Rahman!
Hats of off to Berkley, for singing the Malayalam part. It is sadly skipped even in India with the excuse that it is so hard to pronounce. Hats off to you guys for your hard work!
Rahman revolutionised Indian Film Music. And watching these guys, one can witness his impact. One of the best stage performances I have ever watched. Goosebumps all through.
If this ain’t cultural integration, I don’t know what is💛🧡❤️ And @5:00, I won’t say it’s the silk shawl that makes him Indian, but that violin on his shoulders💛 And the girl singing after the violin, that made me cry. I think that could even make A.R. Rahman cry💛
What an awesome performance, kudos to the entire team !!!! Love the way the guitarist at 0:40 is enjoying his performance !!! Just watch him till the end perhaps this is what happens when you love your work. Thanks Berklee college for sharing this great group.
