She just doesn't need to use broad range to sound rich, versatile, colourfoul or to evoke different emotions. Truly, one of the best metal vocalist ever.
To be fair I don't think studio productions reflect the true range of her vocals. There is something majestic and precise about her voice live. She's delivered some of the most impressive angelic sounding performances in many of the random live recordings out there.
Great work. Fantastic discography. Phenomenon! What an instrument. Her belting ... Missing some parts (Lorrainville, Danny Cavanagh, Symphonized) but whatever, it's a very decent selection and there's just so damn much good source material. Range is all nice and dandy ... but how do you measure tone, timbre and all of those other qualities that define a voice and vocal performance? Like, for example, how do you express the hauntingness of her lines in 'Sand and Mercury'?
I am very sorry to say that but that is not an f6 ( I mean f 6 would be higher than der Hölle Rache highs notes) This note is not even that high of a note (like normal soprano register). th-cam.com/video/Pa7xuOIK1d4/w-d-xo.html 1:33 you hear a whistke register f6. ( btw sadly i do not have a piano with me but i would guess that is an f5 if even.)
Woooow! Thanks for this amazing video! Have you heard the song with Amadeus awad : Lonesome Clown? There are a lot of "wooow' notes. I would have loved that you include some of them in this video but maybe you havent heard the song ;) you should check it out it's amazing! thanks for the video
I'm assuming you're talking about the F5 and G5. They go from mix belt to head voice Ex. "you'll be back on the end-->less (G5 m/b)-->seaaa (E5 head voice)"

She hits F6 in Waking Hour - in "provide us with a soul" part - her range is well into 6th octave, she hits sixth octave C-E with ease.

É a voz mais linda que eu já ouvi
Wow, this is so cool.
Interesting, always thought her lower range would go deeper than E3...
Awesome!!!

She's mezzosoprano.
I was thinking that as well. I also suspect she's what we call a "belter" in the vocal world.
She was a lyrical soprano in her earlier days for sure she also said that in an interview in the 90s
@@federicafurlotti Yes, she WAS. But ISN'T anymore. She stated that TOO.
@@federicafurlotti are we talking the strange machines days
Can someone confirm that in "Amity", she whispers in one of the "layers"of vocals?
She is. There’s a layer that’s all whispers. It’s more obvious in one of the Amity remixes. I couldn’t find it on TH-cam though.
@@TristVid Hey man, thanks for the info. Is that remix on Spotify?
Hanzel Cisneros unfortunately, it’s not. It’s on the Amity EP single.
Almost all the high notes from The Endless Sea that you fit into the belt area I hear them as if they were head voice. Am I missing something?

@@fleshgod9332 yes, that part. I can't hear the difference. I guess because I'm not an expert or anything xd
Brightest Light is not a The Gathering song.
