- As a follow-up to a video I made covering the Xbox controller in question, the Xbox Elite Series 2 Core. I said don't buy it and I stand by that... at the MSRP. With this Xbox controller being on sale for lower than it has ever been and lower than most "pro" controllers out there, it's now time to buy if you want one. Let's take a look at it.

The red one is on sale at the Microsoft store for $98
I saw it went on sale a few days after I made this video. That's a dang good deal.

Just bought my red one the other day for $30. Price-matched at Gamestop for $96, and I traded my two regular XBox controllers for $33 each (probably not going to need them anymore if I had the Elite). Liking it so far.

Best Buy sells their open box / like new Elite Series 2 controllers for $114.95. I picked one up yesterday for less than the Core price!

Just bought a red one the other day. Straight out of the box the top left paddle button doesn’t register unless you click it manually without the paddle. I got the core so I used my series 1 paddle for it so idk if the series 1 paddles are different. If anyone has info please lmk. Going to return it tomorrow.
I've heard of issues with Version 1 parts on Version 2 not fitting correctly, but this one is new to me. I have both versions. I'll test it out and make a video to help others in the future avoid the issue you're having.

I have 3 of the black elite series 2 was gonna buy both blue and red versions but saw that they don’t even have paddles so I will pass on these don’t they don’t even come with a case😭
That's why they are the core version. It's why they are cheaper.

I give my red 🍒 one to my brother had buy another one it's best it never broke so I got red white dream controller a custom black one and a halo infinite elite 2 series controller limited edition
On Amazon now they got the color chargers and cases for them but they're 50 bucks red white black I thought it was cool cuz the chargers red but I don't know think
But there ain't no point of me getting it cuz I'm using the the dream controller elite it's the same place as the Xbox design lab I paid like $300 cuz it's limited edition dream controller that's the name of the place or I got my black one customized
These break too often, Microsoft charges a premium for nothing.
Ive had three of these break, either the rubber grips fall off, buttons get stuck, stick drift etc.
And looking at reviews, several people have issues with the quality build of these controllers, its why Microsoft started selling part's for them, instead of trying to make them better, they sell you a problem to sell you a solution.
People didn't realize the core controller fixed all the issues with the series 2 controller with the lb and rb buttons breaking and analog problems. So it's totally worth it. It literally says on the box they improved the components
There have been tear downs on both controllers, and they have the exact same components on the inside.
I’ve seen multiple teardowns comparing the 2 and they’re identical
I just ordered one from amazon today I got it for $119.
