Warm greetings to California State University, Long Beach. My name is Riya Sanjiv Pradhan, and I am looking forward to apply for a Master’s in Information Systems program for Fall 2025. I am based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, and currently in the final year of my Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering. I am pursuing my Bachelor of Engineering from the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, which is affiliated to Mumbai University.
Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by technology-how it works and seamlessly integrates into our lives. Growing up, I always dreamed of pursuing computer engineering and eventually earning a master’s degree in the USA. Currently, I’m in my final year of a Bachelor of Engineering program in Computer Engineering, which has provided me with a solid foundation in key technical areas like Database Management Systems, Data Warehousing, Software Engineering, and Management Information Systems. These subjects have sparked my curiosity and strengthened my passion for exploring the intersection of technology and management. Alongside my academic journey, I’ve honed my skills in programming languages like Python, Java, and C++, which have fueled my passion for problem-solving. I’m determined to continue challenging myself, learning, and growing as I pursue my aspirations.
As I look forward to completing this course, over the next 3-5 years, I aim to work as a project manager in a leading organization, where I get to utilize my technical and managerial skills to drive innovation and deliver impactful solutions. This role will serve as a stepping stone toward my ultimate dream job-leading a team at a top technology company like Google, where I can develop strategies to solve complex challenges and contribute to organizational growth.
Throughout my academic journey, I’ve worked to build a blend of technical and managerial skills. My coursework in Database Management Systems, Software Engineering, and Management Information Systems has solidified my technical knowledge, while leadership roles as vice president of RGIT CESS and RGIT CODECELL helped me develop organizational and teamwork skills. My major project 'Speech Emotion Recognition Using Machine Learning' and Minor Project 'Reader Segmentation Using Machine Learning ' demonstrate my ability to apply technical concepts to real-world problems. Volunteering with NGOs and participating in clean-up drives has also taught me the importance of teamwork and giving back to the community, which has been integral to my holistic development.
The United States has long been my chosen higher education destination due to its superior educational quality, cutting-edge research opportunities, and diversified cultural. The country's prominence as a global hub for technology and innovation provides an excellent platform for young professionals like me. The MS in Information Systems program at California State University, Long Beach aligns perfectly with my academic background and career aspirations. Its interdisciplinary focus on both technical systems and strategic management is appropriate for my goals. I believe that this program will equip me with the advanced knowledge and global perspective I need to thrive in the IT industry and make meaningful contributions to the field of Information Systems.
