I have never seen any parents asking boys about the good news. It is always the girls that have to bear the pain of this question. I am personally experiencing this although my husband is equally involved in this matter. But kudos to the team to show the change that we need to bring to the society and not have girls bombarded with this question.

Have mixed feelings on this one. On one hand, I appreciate how a broad-minded and practical Shweta approaches Rohan and offers to divorce Utkarsh, just so these two can get together, as her marriage is already on the rocks. But, on the other hand I feel Utkarsh has been unfair to Shweta by not revealing his gay status to his parents before getting married, and thereby spared Shweta the ordeal she would have gone through after marriage, including the pressure of giving 'good news' for which mainly women are held responsible.
While I understand that it's not easy for the LGBTQ+ community folks to come out openly about their sexual orientation, and they too have a right to live their live on their terms, that doesn't give them the right to ruin the life of straight people. Besides, as of now, legally only a man and woman can marry, whether they choose to have kids and raise a family or just stay as a couple. Gay people can't make straight people pay the price of their (gays) cowardice.
I wish the Life Tak team had shown a gay person coming out BEFORE getting married to a straight person, as that's what is desirable. Women in particular have to face more stigma and social pressure from a failed marriage than men do, so imagine what a married woman like Shweta would have to go through even after Utkarsh divorces her to unite with his gay partner Rohan. The Life Tak creative team seems to have overlooked this aspect. Besides, this family seems to be affluent and possibly of upper middle-class, so perhaps it would be easier for all concerned to adjust and adapt. Not so for most who are less privileged than them, particularly when the husband is the sole bread-winner for the family.
