This song captures something no other soundtrack has in a video game aside from Halo 3. This feels like the dirty streets of New York should. The game captured NY perfectly, and this soundtrack elevates it.
Especially from the lens of an Eastern European coming to NYC for the first time. Soviet Connection for real. Michael Hunter knocked it out of the park with this one
Agree. Martin O’Donnel made Halo feel as we know it. 1 & 2 OST was also great. I had the CDs. Then they fired him. I won’t remember even one song from Halo Infinite.
I'm not sure there's no other game that has captured it. One of my favorite boss themes is something I would probably call perfect in a similar way. It captures everything in the game up until that point and then makes it into something incredibly grand, fitting for the journey you've been on. Sadly the game is one that a lot of people assume is hgame shovel ware on looks alone, despite it being so damn good
GTAV feels like a GTA themed amusement park where everyone is in on the joke and playing a role... GTA4 feels like a story about how a life of crime is a living hell...

Five was nice as a technical showcase and a very interesting method to tell a story (switching between 3 protagonists) but also felt disjointed in some spots because of that. Any time Trevor is on Grove Street, for instance. Anyway, I'm hoping that the story of the brother and sister trying to make it big in Florida will resonate with me the way San Andreas did as far as the gritty, street crime vibe goes.
In all honesty GTA V theme was pretty appropriate with the focus of Action Packed Heist and how it is set in Parody Of California / Hollywood. So It being an amusement park is a cool theme.
GTA VCS: The road to hell is paved with good intentions. GTA VC: Those closest to you are the ones who stand to gain the most betraying you. GTA SA: Those with your best interests in mind are indistinguishable from those with a knife raised to stab you. GTA LCS: Even at the top, someone will try to screw you. GTA III: Money and power only go as far as your ability to defend yourself from threats both seen and unseen.
TBH, San Andreas is still far better than GTAIV and GTAV is better as well IMO. Never got into IV because I just couldn't really connect with the character.

Same, I passed it for the first time in the beginning of this year. It's pure art and I want to play it again from the beginning. Loved everything about the game and was craving to play it since it came out but my PC was shit and couldn't load textures. At least I enjoyed it now including all the DLCs

This is by far my favorite opening to any GTA song. To me, it encapsulates the dark and unknown that Niko was dealing with when he got to Liberty City.

GTA IV had my favorite main theme of all GTA games. It fits game perfectly, instruments somehow reflect the main character, his life and the city. It is tense, has something dangerous in it, yet still fluid and intriguing. 10/10 original and 10/10 cover

GTA IV was so criminally underrated (ironically) because Nico was, at least in my eyes, quite different from the other GTA protagonists we had befor.
