I have 6000xp, hope you're still impressed. Lux has been selling it outside US for 5 years, has a history/ track record. Never heard of this brand until I started seeing ads on Facebook a couple weeks ago. Looked at website, didn't say much. I just had a buddy ask me about this brand 30 minutes ago and have forwarded your video. I'll stick with EG4 6000xp
Just more options for those looking for more power from one inverter on a budget! More testing to come
Both this Chinese made, lightweight Calpha inverter and your Chinese made, lightweight XP inverter have relatively low surge capacities and a shorter life expectancies when compared to a low frequency, transformer based inverter, so personally, I wouldn't stick with either one of them.
@@Madsci-zy8wm depends on what you’re trying to run. If you’re trying to run well pumps, heat pumps, heavy tools, air compressors, then you might want low frequency inverters. Otherwise, high frequency is more efficient, much easier on your back and cheaper to ship.
@@Madsci-zy8wm that's true, everyone acting like the XP is somesort of gamechanging tech.. they're not, This 10k by Calph is just a rebrand of the SRNE 10k by Voltronic, Sungold has a flavor of this same High freq inverter.. which I have tested... and honestly.. for the price.. These 10k inverters are awesome, extremely capable inverters for average users getting started in solar
Its all personal choices. Everyone is free to make decisions for themselves in my opinion. 👍
Was definitely thinking of two 6000xp's since my needs peaked just over 6000wh, but for the price this looks very interesting.
I guess if you are looking for ideas to present, maybe:
1. hooking up a generator to either the inverter or to a chargeverter for those cloudy days
2. using the calpha as a home backup to an interlock switch in the main panel
3. how good are the calpha batteries compared to others such as the EG4 / Ruixu / SOK batteries
4. do the calpha batteries fit into another rack, such as the EG4 battery rack? (Didn't really get excited over the calpha battery rack)
5. can multiple inverters be hooked up in parallel
6. how does the inverter perform in the cold/hot if it's installed in a garage/shed that's not heated

Well couldn’t get the wifi dongle to work so have not been promoting this unit. It has worked well besides that so unfortunate they list the monitoring app on their website when they know it doesn’t work. Hard to promote that. Maybe they will get it fixed but it has been months with nothing.
Rodney, Thanks for being such a trail blazer for the rest of us who are sitting back and waiting for the right
moment to pull the trigger on buying solar,we all know it's inevitable,but IMHO eg4 who is at the top of the pile right now really needs to up their game and increase the output power of their inverters from 6k on the 6000's to more like 10k, and 20k+ on the 18k,to achieve a usable independent power setup for home owners without having 3 or 4 inverters on the wall and all the hassle and expense to do so! thanks again Roy, anxiously awaiting the industry to catch up!

These SRNE 10k rebrands are good units. Pair it with solar assistant automation and it’s a great unit
Testing has been good so far!
Nice. Lots of certifications as well. Certifications: CE (IEC62109) / cUL (UL1741 include UL1741-SB) / EMC EN61000 / RoHS Compliant / FCC. Good competition for EG4. I still need to get my 6000XP online!
Still loving the 6000xp but like testing out other options! This might be good first someone on a budget looking to get a little more power
Great review video Rodney. This looks like it has some potential. I'm looking to build another offgrid system dedicated for EV charging at home. I'll add this to my list for consideration. Considering the 6000XP, Growatt 10KW and I'll throw in this rebranded SRNE into the mix which seems to be priced really nicely for a 10KW inverter and split phase to boot. Looking forward to your upcoming videos doing a deep dive into this model inverter.

Understand, your concern about the Wifi Dongle, you might consider the Solar Assistant product which you can connect and it has a more robust data interface.. However I have seen a few others with this unit with the WiFi Dongle you mentioned working . Yet the other I saw had no issues.. Seems there maybe a Config or port issue. I understand you would expect Plug & Play.. but as you know. Like the Growatt Shine it is a pain as well to get it Configured.. Support with many of these companies can be an challenge to.. I'm sure if pursued your Wifi dongle would / will work. I know of one person that has the unit over a year and loves it, now adding a second since it is hybrid and he is using the SA program vs. the Dongle you have issues with.. appreciate what you do..
Calpha said from the beginning the 10k didn’t work with the dongle. They just send another one they said should work but still no luck. The other units having monitoring and I haven’t seen a 10k video with it. The smaller units yes. I had solar assistant with my growatts. I just can’t recommend the calpha when it says it comes with something they know didn’t work with the 10k.

I’d love to know about the hybrid features. My application is feeding it with a limited amount of power from my main house to the tiny house. I would like it to blend power. I’d also like it to export power to my house using 62hz power control.

two questions:
1.) can you stack them 2 in parallel mode to get 20K at 240 Volt?
2.) do you have a link to the manual and spec sheet?
They do not stack. No parallel operations for the Calpha 10kw unfortunately

@@rodneyhunt I don't know if this is a recent update, but that site now says "Parallelable: Connect up to 6 Units in Parallel(Only for the 230V model)"
I have EG4 power wall I’m trying my to get to communicate with my 10k calpha inverter. Calpha just told me it won’t communicate with eg4! I’m super bummed just find that hard to believe

I ask that you test it with another charging source. Say you have 16kw of solar. 11kw hooked to this and another 5kw hooked to batteries with like an Epever 100amp charge controller. I can almost assure there will be problems but there shouldn't be.
Only have two batteries with this and the maximum pv input is 11k. So would be able to charge what you are asking but will test higher PV input for sure. Will also test AC charging
Great video. This is exactly the same as the PowMr sunsmart 10k, split phase unit. Please let us know how you solved that error 58 batteries com failure.
I just disconnected and tried to reconnect a few more times. Then it has been working ever since. Hopefully can get an update out next week on this inverter

I'm unclear about the max surge. Is it 10 k consistent with a higher or is 10 k the surge and it's consistent duty is a lower number?
Maybe A stove or resistant heaters is a good way to build watts to then hit it with the air compressor or ac to test surge. Does it have l1 l2 ground and a neutral? Or just ground? Great vid as usual
Did u notice the idle consumption wattage
10k constant output, l1 l2 neutral, don’t think the ground is present since some of my EV chargers do nit work in my mobile setup. Will need to try again in a permanent setup. It has been a while since I checked the idle consumption so not sure off hand

Does it have breakers and shut off for battery/solar, like in the 6000xp?
No. It has a ac input breaker. Will do more in depth but they have packages that come with pv disconnects etc.
Please test if there is AC voltage on the solar input line when connected to grid.

Rodney, the Calpha unit is a SNRE mfg.. I am going to contact SNRE in China and see what they have to say and mention your issue. as I am about to purchase Three of these, but not from Calph.. but directly from SNRE in China. I do fair amount of trade in China and my experience is they care as much as we do of their products made and are proud.. there are exceptions, because of the people factor.. In your case, I want to get to the bottom of this issue. As a retired aircraft engineer technician it is my nature when something is not working then lets fix it so it does work.. There is a reason your unit is not.. wifi communicating and that is Serious in my book. I understand why your not willing to recommend it.. But I would not throw out the Baby with the bath water.. Not yet.. I will get to the bottom of this. From what I understand, this Calpha and battery(s) was sent to you as a courtesy for testing and promotion. Correct me if I am wrong.. Lets fix this.. I want to know. as I mentioned , I'am about to purchase three of them.. Lets put the horse back in the front of the wagon.. appreciate the sharing.. will let you know what I find out and you maybe contacted thru me from mfger..

@@rodneyhunt he brother all I can get is the chat on Calpha can’t get anybody on the phone now they’re telling me that it’s not compatible with the EG4 wall battery when prior to purchase they told me it was. But have several problems that have been trying to get answer for months. Menu 4 voltage return back to grid number can’t get above 49.2 and have to run this thing on SLA I’m pretty pissed off at them. Have spent some money on panels and this inverter. Just got my WiFi yesterday and shoot.. I’m

@@Panhandlehomestead just got the new wifi dongle and only worked with it for 5 minutes last night but still not working. Maybe tonight can get it going. I like the inverter but several things not to like as well. The wifi should just work! Have not had a chance to try eg4 battery yet

Still working. Wifi has not been fixed yet which is disappointing. But have basically been using this setup to charge my car about half the time. Will hopefully get and update out this week but it has been pushed back a few times when other stuff comes up.

@@rodneyhunt that is very good. My Sol-Ark ”9K” is about 60W, 6500ex 90W, Victron 5kW x2 65W total!!
