Too bad for them I don't use my back pockets making way hard for them to pickpocket me when picking up the cash as for the bag at most likely it would only contain some food and water maybe an umbrella or a jacket depending on the weather.
This is why you need to walk confidently and not look obviously like a tourist. (Obviously depending on where you are it’s more difficult than other times).

i actually was a victim for the "stepped on painting" scam when I was like 7 or 8 years old,and holy shit the guy who drew the painting was such a mf literally charged like 1000 rupees (which is like 12 bucks in the US but still pretty alot in india).plus my dad hadn't brought that much money cus we were just trying to go to my mom's friend's wedding in another place.So my dad didn't actually give him the money instead he insulted the man saying "you asshole thinking you can make money off of people stamping on your art by accident.we know you're doing this on purpose".

When me and my brother were walking up to Sacre Coeur, these two men by the front entrance, who were selling handmade friendship bracelets, stopped us and started trying to put the bracelets on our arms. One man grabbed my arm and was forcefully trying to put it on my arm. I kept saying no no, but they were like “just watch us make it.” And I thankfully knew that if I let them, after they “showed” me how to make it, they would probably demand money for it. But thankfully, my brother told the men to get away from me. They then moved away from me. The scammers and street sellers are NO JOKE!

Shoe shine scammers in India throws real poo at tourists, its a 3 men 3 stage operation. One will throw poo at your shoe , Second one will act as a friendly local who introduce you to a shoeshine guy just around the corner. This guy will charge you a huge amount after cleaning.
I found a scam in south of Europe: There are people who are offering a ride on a horse or a cruise etc. and you ask them for the price, they say for example 200 euro. But then you reject because it is too expensive, they offer you a lower price which you accept because you think it’s cheaper and more worth it This is the part where the scam comes in The people selling it want for example: 150 euro but they upper the price so when you reject the higher price, they give you the price they want so don’t get scammed!
The best way to deal with a scammer is by exposing them by pretending to be a sucker while calling out their contradictions. Or for laughs, prank them as long as you can.
Just walk away. These scammers are professional gaslighters. Best thing to do is leave or record them if they get aggressive for evidence. Only get physical as a last resort/ if they get physical first to avoid lawsuits.

Theres also another one where they will ask you to choose a drawing and they say it's "free". So you choose one and then he says he wants some money because he gave you the drawing. It's really annoying and as well it's pretty smart because since it is a donation, it doesn't count for taxes
